Easy to open a bank account, it does what it says on the tin no more. When you call their customer services it can be rather frustrating as they don't speak English that well. Also they don't give any perks. Reviewed on: 21st November 2015

Accused of Fraud!

I have been a Barclays bank customer for 17 years Never had any issue with my account, always in credit, always had my wages paid in monthly and could never fault them on most services. However not so long ago I went into the bank with my fiance as we wanted to open a joint account and the lady behind the desk basically refused to let us open a joint account and in a round about way said it was because she suspected us of trying to open a fraudulent account. As I said I have never had any issues, but you would have thought a long standing customer would have been treated better face to face - we went to my fiances bank after we left and they had no problems with us opening one so it was Barclays loss. Flexible, customer central approach

I have had two positive experiences which I feel single out Barclay's, at least my branch of Barclay's as better than the average. Our impression of n entire bank is determined in large part by the experience we have with the individual staff members. I once went into the red due to an error in my council tax bill. I was duly charge an exorbitant overdraft charge. I requested an appointment with the manger to present my case - 1. I would have had sufficient funds if my local Count Council hadn't made an error 2. I had banked with them since my undergraduate years 35 years ago nd have never been overdrawn. They listened and accepted my case on its individual merits - flexibility. When I pop down to my bank I like to take my dog with me because she is anxious when left alone and although it says no dogs I have been told by on floor staff to ignore it - once again a flexible approach Reviewed on: 20th November 2015

I have always had positive views about barclays I am currently with them myself never had any issues with them. I find they have recently been giving me more like my insurance for example last year i wasn't able to insure my laptop as they was only allowing products to the value of £800 though my laptop was worth more but I'm glad barclays are now allowing me to insure it at such a great price! I feel I have always been receiving the service I want and they are very helpful and polite in local branches too. Reviewed on: 7th November 2015

Barclays are a great bank. Whenever I have gone in branch the staff have been friendly and helpful. Service in branch has always been quick and easy. I access online banking through the Barclays app on an almost daily basis - this is a fantastic way to check a balance, transfer money etc with just a few clicks.
