Solid format and procedures for on-line banking and a very good experience of telephone banking. Blue rewards is a faff but a necessary evil for the competitive Rainy Day Saver. Some good ISA offers but transfers in currently disappointlingly slow. Reviewed on: 10th March 2023

met scammers

I have been a client of this bank for more than five years. For five years I had no reason to contact the bank for help. And then a month ago I came across scammers. The scammers turned out to be very clever and it took me about a month to discover the fraud. Friends advised me to contact my bank and ask for help in returning the money. I did just that, I called the bank on the same day and was ready to wait a long time to connect with the operator, but, to my pleasant surprise, I was connected to the operator in just two minutes. I received a highly qualified service, being an ordinary client of the bank, I received a VIP class service (the operator communicated very politely and courteously, the bank operator thoroughly studied the situation, checked all the data I provided, and during the day the bank returned the money that I paid to the scammers!) I I am very grateful to the employees of the bank and the "term and condition" of Barclays Bank. I felt the reliability and security of the bank! I am very glad that I am a client of a reliable bank. And I will always recommend Barclays Bank as the best bank in England. Reviewed on: 10th March 2023

Could improve

I’ve banked with Barclays for over ten years, I have found that even though I deposit money every week and every month, there are no rewards for this loyalty. Good points are that it operates on a Saturday and that it is secure. Bad points are trying to get through to someone via the automated phone lines or online chat for something as simple as changing address, proved to be very difficult. Overall it is a steady bank but there’s definitely room for improvement. Reviewed on: 9th March 2023

Awful in branch experience

Terrible experience in the Lancaster branch recently. They no longer have cashiers or a counter. I was expected to pay a bill using a machine similar to an ATM - the bill was for Barclaycard and bore a QR code which the machine is supposed to scan. The machine didn't scan it - on speaking to a male member of staff (40's, glasses, balding, didn't get his name as he disappeared quickly) I was told that I'd have to type the number in myself. No apology for the machine not working as it should. No interest in my honest feedback. He walked off and his other male colleague just smirked throughout the interaction without offering to help. I have since closed my Barclaycard and Barclays Bank accounts via the Switch service to Natwest and have been paid £200 for doing this. Reviewed on: 9th March 2023
