Online Banking and Service

We have several joint accounts with the Barclays Bank and due to our disability we also have online banking account which was working reasonably well until they introduces step- 2 which seemed to be giving feeling of added security Since beginning of March my contactless card stop working at any stores and left us in embarrassing situation and had to go without purchase my partner’s debit card was not renewed after they issued PINsentry as it was proving difficult to use payment machines having to type the pin numbers this prevented my partner windrowing money or making all purchase.. Also prevented access on online banking (PINsentry is of no use without a card) My online account failed to recognise my details, my surname, my bank account numbers, passcode even renewed one, verification code SMS on my mobile to confirm my log in, and now they have blocked my account where we get our pension money which we cannot windrow or transfer to any other account or do online shopping We rang the numbers given on chat line three times and E-mail complains 0345 7345 345 and 0345 600 2323 Waited on phone more than 1:45 min and then getting cut off e-mail and chat line were advisers were from call centres and all they could say was ring and thy did not have access to our account details, but they could have forwarded our complains and problems with account to someone in UK to address as they had our contact details account number, our mobile numbers and our home address. Covid-19 excuse does not help those who are 70 plus and on lockdown and have family member on Shielding order Reviewed on: 17th May 2020

I have a good overall experience with my bank (Barclays). I have found that if i have issues with them i can easily contact them online for help. In terms of loan/mortgage, i am happy with my overall deal and expectations that come with it. Reviewed on: 16th May 2020

Sharklays! They have got your money and that's that.

My very elderly mother has always used Barclays phone banking. She has been trying to get through to them to do various things for over three weeks now. Today she was on hold for an hour and a quarter before giving up. I could understand it at the beginning of the COVID crisis but they should have sorted something out by now. I tried to set up online banking for her but that didn't work either. She can't access her own money. Terrible terrible company. Reviewed on: 2nd May 2020

Overall, very good customer service with hardly any app issues or online banking issues. In branch, the advisers have always been lovely too with a willingness to help.

I've been with Barclays ever since I was 16 so I've had my first account with them for close to 14 years. I've since opened several savings accounts, and I've never had any issues. Their fraud department always makes sure it's me on the other end when doing a slightly different transaction than normal. I especially love their text alerts for this. I don't think they're 100% perfect. Of course there are days when I get technical errors when trying to access their app, but I believe they were the first ones to ever come up with the app and pin sentry, a move than Nationwide has also done.
