Halifax, for me is a bit of a hit and miss. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's not. The customer service side also severely lacks and most of the time it seems like they just want to end the conversation you're having with them Reviewed on: 10th June 2026

Absolutely shocking customer service .

Absolutely shocking customer service .My card was used fraudulently,it took over an hour for someone to pick up the phone call on the dedicated fraud team ,where I was told I must have used my card .I explained that card was cancelled in 2022 and how had they gotten access to my card ..,simply not interested ..Started a chat online ,explained everything very clearly ,only to be asked ' what amount did I use on my card' ,I don't know what was so hard to understand about me having cancelled the card ,and I had received a notification that a payment had been declined .Foreign chat website,everytime there is an issue with Halifax ,they cut off your chat if you do not respond within 10 minutes( even though it can take up to 8 hours for them to reply to you ) .Then you have to start the chat all over again,explain yourself again...this can go on for days .They really need to put customers first..after all we are what keep them going .
