Absolutely shocking customer service .

Absolutely shocking customer service .My card was used fraudulently,it took over an hour for someone to pick up the phone call on the dedicated fraud team ,where I was told I must have used my card .I explained that card was cancelled in 2022 and how had they gotten access to my card ..,simply not interested ..Started a chat online ,explained everything very clearly ,only to be asked ' what amount did I use on my card' ,I don't know what was so hard to understand about me having cancelled the card ,and I had received a notification that a payment had been declined .Foreign chat website,everytime there is an issue with Halifax ,they cut off your chat if you do not respond within 10 minutes( even though it can take up to 8 hours for them to reply to you ) .Then you have to start the chat all over again,explain yourself again...this can go on for days .They really need to put customers first..after all we are what keep them going . Absolutely dreadful,stay clear at all costs

I had my car insured with Aviva for two years .It was hit while unoccupied and the driver drove off .They own Solus who the car went into to be repaired,five times it went in and each time it came back with more problems than it went in with ..Their repairs are guaranteed for three years ,all the problems that were caused by the accident ,airbag warning lights ,stop start ,sound system ,parking sensors have all come back again.I have been backwards and forwards with Aviva and Solus who are basically absolutely useless,they cause more problems than they fix and like Aviva their customer service is non existent .Solus are now saying because they fixed the problems ,but damaged my car again when it had to go back in on a tow truck ,it then had to go to Jeep as Solus could not repair the damage they had caused ,therefore the guarantee is not valid .If Solus had not damaged my car in the first place it would not have had to go to Jeep .Rang Aviva on 27/08/2025,who weren't interested but after much perseverance from myself they agreed to send an independent engineer out to look at my car ,no suprise I've heard nothing from them .Stay clear if you want an insurance company that owns and uses a garage that is competent ,trustworthy ,doesn't damage your car and can fix any problems .If you want nothing but stress,hassle,worry,being fobbed off then go with Aviva ,they won't disappoint in making everything impossible Reviewed on: 10th September 2025
