I am 4 months into my claim for delayed luggage and purchasing of clothes, toiletries etc, AXA keep asking for more documentation which I have provided they don't answer emails or answer the phone can be on the phone hours no reply. I have never had to claim on travel insurance before with anyone but would never use this company again scam company AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Poor customer service when claiming

I am absolutely disgusted with the service from coverwise. I’ve had to make a claim due to not being able to travel and they never respond to my emails and when on the phone for even hours sometimes to speak to the claims team, my call will be cut off. Read more

I am absolutely disgusted with the service from coverwise. I’ve had to make a claim due to not being able to travel and they never respond to my emails and when on the phone for even hours sometimes to speak to the claims team, my call will be cut off.

The company seems very fraudulent and it’s a disgrace how they are allowed to get away with this.

I wouldn’t recommend this company in the slightest and the reviews they have had being positive aren’t a correct reflection on how they operate when it comes to claims and the company having to give an expense.

Disgrace.

I'm 4 months into chasing my claim and nothing. They do not reply to emails, you call them waiting up to 1 hour and half for the line just to cut off - sometimes before you've even got through on when they 'put you on hold' today alone I've been on the phone 4 times and its only 11.30am, my last call was with DIEGO MORENO and guess what the phone cut off as he was looking into my claim. Please do not waste your money on this company - I believe its fraudulent as noone ever seems to have their claims paid out after researching a little more. I logged a complaint over a month ago - with no feedback. My claim is for over 8k and the stress it is having on my family is unimaginable. I'm just utterly applauded that they are allowed to continue to trade like this

Avoid avoid avoid Coverwise! All the positive reviews you see on Trustpilot relate to the user experience on the website, not the actual claim process which, essentially, doesn't exist. When you have to submit a claim, Coverwise redirects you to AXA, where you need to fill your claim. I haven't heard back in 4 months. Tried emailing (three times), no reply. Tried calling, it's been over 3 hours (yes 3 hours!) on hold. Called AXA directly, they say they take no responsibility whatsoever, that I need to get in touch with Coverwise which is clearly impossible. 40 mins into my call, someone answers, asks for my details then never comes back. Absolutely shocking customer service!
What is even more shocking is that AXA underwrites this company then completely detaches itself from any responsibility! Do not purchase insurance from either Coverwise or AXA as you will 100% not get your money back if you have to make a claim.

Took out the Platinum Holiday Insurance, it wasnt expensive but was to cover theft and money loss while abroad.
Fast forward to day 2 of holiday where I lost 200 euro, bearing in mind this was 20.04.22. I called the helpline and couldn't get through so filled in the online claim form on the portal where i got an auto response that someone would be in touch within 30 days. luckily a relative managed to transfer some money otherwise i would have been stranded abroad with no food for 7 days. it has taken till 12.05.22 for someone to pick up the phone to advise they can see the claim had been logged but has only been opened by them on 09.05.22 and will be responded to in another 21 days??, they are currently blaming the pandemic for the delays however if that is the case stop taking peoples money if you cannot deal with the influx of claims.
I requested to raise a complaint as looking at the level of complaints they are getting the ombudsman needs to be involved.
People take out insurance for the purpose of immediate help when needed, god knows what would happen if you were ill.

Avoid at all costs & research the companies before committing to insurance.

Lesson learned.

Impossible to speak to anyone on the phone. I have never claimed on travel insurance in 35 years and they are clearly making it as difficult as possible.

The company that doesn't answer the phone or answer emails. Spent an entire day trying to speak to someone to sort out renewal of our travel insurance, however despite me hanging on the phone for over 30 minutes at a time, I never got to the front of the queue and kept getting cut off. Resorted to sending an email asking someone to ring me at their earliest convenience but got no response. As a result of the lack of communication from Coverwise, my policy expired. Oh well, off to a different company who actually wants my money.

The "missing" information will then be something you've already provided (because they must not check the documents thoroughly) or the something you've already provided in a different format.

On their claims form they do not ask for bank details. Getting your bank details will also delay the claim and will fall under the "missing" information section.... even though they never asked for this information.

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

I had an accident and I called the medical assistance line once I had been given pain relief and felt a little better. The line was out of order. I tried multiple times whilst at the hospital. I called U.K. offices who said they were aware there was a fault on the line and they would email them but no guarantee they would call me back. I went on Twitter to the underwriters. I emailed cover wise. Nothing. We decided to go back to the airport and call again from there. Eventually the line was ‘working’ however, I called twice and was waiting over 48 minutes each time and no one answering. If it hadn’t been for the kindness of strangers , the staff at Keflavik airport we would have been stuck. My husband put everything on his credit card - we were unable to get advice or any assistance. It was frightening.

You will then realise on EVERY review site they get 1 star as you can't give lower . You are paying for a insurance in name only ! Good luck if you have the misfortune to need a claim . Like me it's a life lesson in checking the fine print and reviews of their claims procedure . Don't be fooled by reviews which are based solely on price and ease of ordering as you will be sorry you did.!!

Coverwise's doesn't make it obvious, but comes with excess waiver for medical bills of £125 per claim. This means seeing a doctor on vaccation for small medical incidents, which are the majority a traveller regularly encounters, will likely not being covered. Better invest a bit more and get a more profound cover, otherwise this travel insurance seems useless for most.

Better invest a bit more and get a more profound cover, otherwise this travel insurance seems useless for most.

Avoid. Unprofessional, poor customer service. Every possible reason to delay claim resolution

Ongoing claim since end of July. Every step is delayed at any possible matter, every time calling for an update is later/tomorrow, still assesing. Unable to escalate to manager. Shame i can't rate 0 star
