Cover wise and AXA - travel insurance scamming companies

Terrible companies bought travel insurance with coverwise who use AXA as their provider. Missed flights due to contracting a norovirus just before return flights to uk from S.A and had to rebook also was travelling with a baby. Contacted the insurance claim line to ask what was required and to start a claim, provided everything they asked for doctors reports, flight cancellations confirmation, flight rebooking details. On return to uk they then asked for access to SA clinical records and access to my UK GP’’s records which I signed and agreed,. They then came back weeks later saying I needed a GPs letter saying I was fit to travel when I left and returned ? Provided that at my cost £50 and heard nothing for weeks, contacted them and they said it was delayed, then they said two weeks later they didn’t know why it was delayed that I should file a complaint if I don’t hear in 10 days, didn’t hear from them contacted them and they David it was with the medical team and I should have an outcome decision shortly, nothing heard for two week contacted again and now they say they want the last 5yrs of my GPs records again ( for contracting a norovirus) at a further cost of £50 not initially asked for with no reason as to why it’s required. These are terrible companies who should be closed down by the insurance ombudsman they are scammers who try to put off anyone making a claim and delay them to the point of giving up. Claiming on travel insurance

Conmen no other word for then ,avoid like the plague .been trying to claim since June. No one ever answers the phone or realise to emails after countless attempts. Next step citizens advice and ombudsman!!!!!!!! Reviewed on: 12th September 2022

Absolute scam - phone queue is 1hour and then always cuts off just after you speak

Been waiting for a refund on a flight for 7 months. Have had 2 emails in total, 3 months between them. Everytime you phone the queue is 1hour, then you speak to a guy in india, he says there are connection issues, and then the phone line gets cut or goes silent mid conversation. Total scam to persuade people to give up before having to resolve a claim. Reviewed on: 8th September 2022

Awful. They don't give you back the money you deserve!

Case number: GB1-22-002414 When using the policy, the service has been terrible! Not only did they ask for one piece of evidence at a time, but instead of asking all at once, it took 3 months. Now, it's been 9 months, and no reply whatsoever, it's been months we have chased but none replies..!!! Scary. Where is my money, it's almost 4,000 GBP we need back..!! Please..!!! They don't give you the money they promise!!!

When using the policy is terrible! Not only did they ask for one evidence at a time, instead of asking all at once, so it took 3 months. They only asked because we were chasing. Now, they have ignored our emails, calls, for 9 months! I need my 4,000 GBP back! Reviewed on: 4th September 2022

Unbelievably bad

I echo everyone below regarding claiming. 3 attempts to get through today, 4 hours on hold, cut off each time. I am writing this so people know how to beat these con of a company. Open a case with Resolver. Its weeks of additional process but they will have no choice but to go to deadlock with ombudsman if no satisfactory response. Don't give up. 1 year almost waiting for a claim to be cleared by coverwise for money.

They give worse excuse if they answer. But generally they don't answer your calls on the phone for hours. No response to emails. Don't go this company they never help you. You not covered for expenses that was not your fault Reviewed on: 23rd August 2022

An absolute shambles

My claim dates back to March when I tore a tendon in my foot. Scheduled to fly to Portugal on medical advice from both chiropractor and GP advised to cancel which I did and then my woes started. All documentation provided sent and ignored. Calls made to discuss with call centre in Mexico usually ends in being cut off. No meaningful conversation could be had anyway as line too poor. Latest email requesting my full medical history as I was awaiting either repatriation or treatment from Portugal. Clueless, where do I go now God only knows, Coverwise never again be aware folks. I am 4 months into my claim for delayed luggage and purchasing of clothes, toiletries etc, AXA keep asking for more documentation which I have provided they don't answer emails or answer the phone can be on the phone hours no reply. Poor customer service when claiming

I am absolutely disgusted with the service from coverwise. I’ve had to make a claim due to not being able to travel and they never respond to my emails and when on the phone for even hours sometimes to speak to the claims team, my call will be cut off. The company seems very fraudulent and it’s a disgrace how they are allowed to get away with this. I wouldn’t recommend this company in the slightest and the reviews they have had being positive aren’t a correct reflection on how they operate when it comes to claims and the company having to give an expense. Avoid

I'm 4 months into chasing my claim and nothing. They do not reply to emails, you call them waiting up to 1 hour and half for the line just to cut off - sometimes before you've even got through on when they 'put you on hold' today alone I've been on the phone 4 times and its only 11.30am, my last call was with DIEGO MORENO and guess what the phone cut off as he was looking into my claim. Please do not waste your money on this company - I believe its fraudulent as noone ever seems to have their claims paid out after researching a little more. I logged a complaint over a month ago - with no feedback. My claim is for over 8k and the stress it is having on my family is unimaginable.
