Generally good but.........

Smoothly switched to First Direct over a year ago. Generally very good service. However, there seems to be a a slight slowdown when answering phone calls. Also, their Insights service which analyses spending is seriously short of functionality. My approaches about this have been ignored. Reviewed on: 29th July 2024

Friendly, helpful and highly efficient advisers. Never put through to a convoluted automated service, always put through rapidly to a human operator on the rare occasion required. Almost all queries and banking conducted via their user-friendly app. Reviewed on: 24th May 2024

Brilliant current account

I had held my previous current account for 30 years. First direct's current account switch offer seemed too good to be true but I knew people with accounts with FD and decided to try something new. I couldn't be happier that I did. The switch was simple, done cleanly and the offer was paid when I was told it would be. I used to think First Direct had good customer service until I really needed it. I had been with them for about 20years. I fell victim to emotional fraud. It was such a horrible and persistent scam. They had no calls saved that’s how I made payments. They said because the payments were small there was nothing they could do. If the crook had been less clever or I had been richer they would have helped!!! I was never expecting full return just a nod to the fact that they were involved. They gave nothing. What made me mad is when I switched as a result they started asking me security questions. They were also sending me spin the wheel prize offers. They have the money to give people gambling prizes but not to compensate where they couldn’t help keep a customers money safe from fraud. Reviewed on: 13th April 2024
