Shambles

One mistake after another in mortgage application. Has taken months and still not resolved. Nobody at their side least bit helpful. Appalling customer service

Great service at a great rate!

I have only recently changed my mortgage to First Direct, and I was very impressed by the process. Their own conveyancers provided me with access to an online tracker so that I could see exactly what stage the remortgage was at, and could upload documents to them as needed. Now that the mortgage is active, I have a great interest rate (with no fees, bonus!) and can overpay at any time through the online banking. overpay then payoff

My first direct mortgage allowed me to overpay then pay off my loan more quickly than i would have done otherwise. Staff in call centre are most helpful and proactively ensure you are receiving the right service. Couldn't fault them! Reviewed on: 12th February 2016

Sticking with First Direct

We got our first mortgage with First Direct because they had the best combination of rates/fees for us at the time. When our fix came to an end, they weren't quite the cheapest option, but the service we got from them was well worth the price to stay with them. We spent over 2 hours on the phone with an advisor chatting about our various options, which saved us tons of money and time (he did a computer-based valuation of our home which lowered our LTV by 15%).
