Well i had already been with them a year, and they sent my quote for the next year and it was over 50% more than the previous year even though i was in double figures for no-claims and there were no changes from last year. So I decided to used a comparison website and inputting the same details as on the quote, the same company came up as the cheapest insurers on the comparison website, at over 50% less than their quote. So i called them and asked why i had 2 quotes with such different prices and they couldn't answer me, they also tried to quote me a price that was between my two other quotes and when i said it would be cheaper for me to leave them now, and then re-join them with my online quote their answer was 'So why did you bother calling then?' I was simply amazed at that! So the Golden rule should always be- NEVER accept the quote from your current insurers without looking around first, it will save you a fortune! This company is a scam!!!

Someone drove into my car last week. It's over a week now and I still haven't got a courtesy car despite having a fully comprehensive policy. Hastings Direct passed the repair to Enterprise, then Enterprise allocated it to the local garage. I'm calling every single one of them daily and I'm being told a different story each time. The most shocking is that Hastings takes no responsibility after the claim is made. I'll escalate this matter to a higher instance. Reviewed on: 10th October 2022

Save your sanity and please avoid

An accident over 3 weeks ago was met with a flurry of phonecalls from Hastings. Only to find liability, When it actually came to having my car fixed, well over 3 weeks on and my car is still on my driveway. I am unable to use it, but despite a Premium Insurance policy (ha ha!) which I believed meant I would have a courtesy car throughout I actually have no means of transport still. They do not phone you, and when you phone them promises are made that I am afraid are total lies, to date I have been given 4 dates I would be assigned a garage and none of it happened. To say this is impacting my life (and others that rely on me) is an understatement. They simply don't care! When you look at reviews for this company be sure to look at reviews of Customer Service that is the honest reflection of the company. People are happy when they take out their policy as it is amazing how competent they are in that process, but once you need help, trust me, one star is one star too many. Avoid. Please please steer clear

Please do not use this company. I am claiming on them as I was driven into by someone who is insured with them and they have done nothing but be deceitful, ignore messages and do anything they can to not pay out what I am owed. There are many stories I have (the accident was in July and still unresolved even though driver admitted fault) For your own sake please do not use them. Reviewed on: 3rd October 2022

The whole process from start to finish has been awful. I have been claiming on the driver who was at fault insurance- Hastings. They have had my car for over 2 months and its being written off. I have spoke to 10+ people and they have all bar 1, had no clue what to say or do. They also have tried to con me at multiple turns. So glad I am not insured with them and needed real help. No active contact - and then when I had been waiting 4 weeks for a valuation they ended the hire car contract and did not tell me, it was only because enterprise rang me to say I was going to be charged as it was 2 days overdue. Worst customer service I have ever experienced

Appalling customer service, being told I have to wait a month for a hire car after an accident. They simply will not provide you with one, it just won’t happen. Don’t even bother trying to get through on the phone, they continually pass the buck between themselves, Vizion and the repairer. I wish I had never got involved with this awful company. Simply the worst, please, for your peace of mind, use a different insurer. Reviewed on: 22nd September 2022

I personally would not use hastings direct again. More expensive then other company's, over charge you for things, then there is a problem getting your money back then they over charge you. Customer service giving you wrong information. Reviewed on: 15th September 2022
