Review of the Hastings Direct, Home Insurance:

Did not honour home emergency, did not honour storm...

Did not honour home emergency, did not honour storm damage claim, did not honour contents and offered less than a quarter of the cost of remedying the internal damage under accidental damage. Also instruct their surveyors to write down poor workmanship or wear and tear or malicious damage to falsify reports in order to reject genuine claims. Avoid like the plague. Received anote 28.12.24 saying they would not renew our home insurance when it runs out in a month. No specific reaosn given, juts that some area had more thefts etc even though I am not aware of any near us. Reviewed on: 28th December 2024

Leak in my bathroom

I had a leak in my house back in June 2023 and Hastings Direct still haven’t completed the works. I have had so many different people from Hastings contact me, mis informing me. I was without carpet in my living room for 8 months. My husband, my 8 year old (7 at the time) and myself had to deal with concrete that was so dusty. We were all coughing a lot because of it. When I asked them for an update, they told me it’s that time of year. People get coughs. Johns of Nottingham who were the contractors were incompetent too especially Jason. My old bathroom vanity unit was damaged when it was ripped out so a new one had to be fitted. Jason told me he couldn’t find a new.one. He measured my bathroom then went away for a long time giving me excuses then had to come back again to measure up again. I ended up asking for someone else and Tim ended up doing the bathroom. It had to be a bespoke unit and I think that was what they were trying to avoid because they were constantly scrimping on money. September 2024 and the works are still not complete. Hastings are great

I had hastings for one year it was a smooth experience and they covered everything I needed and wanted. Unfortunately I had to leave as their price had risen a bit too much for me. Leaving was easy, no problems. Reviewed on: 4th September 2024
