Review of the Laka, Cycle Insurance:

They will take your money and dismiss claims

I was with laka for years, at some point I decided to pause my policy because I wasn't cycling and thought my bicycle was safe enough in my building. the same week I paused it it got stolen. Since I was still insured as that month was gonna be paid for I went on the website to resume my policy and obviously started a claim. They discharged me to another company called Zurich which then arranged a video call with me to basically get all the facts as laka found it suspicious. They tried to claim that I was not insured but if I still paid two months of cover after that pause so the entire time I was covered. then Zurich said they are still waiting for police to confirm my report. It has been about 6 months! I am seriously considering making a complain to ombudsman as this is not ethical at all and I feel robbed after paying my insurance for so long and then being dismissed like this. Friendly neighbourhood insurance company

I thought getting bike insurance would be a mega expensive hassle, but Laka make it easy and affordable, and I feel like my bike is in safe hands with them :) Reviewed on: 1st September 2023

The best bike insurance I've found

Laka is a great option for insurance cover. The team are on hand to help when you need them, and respond super quickly to claims/ queries. I've had a couple of challenging claims and the Laka team took it in their stride. Fully recommended! Reviewed on: 1st September 2023

Helpful, rapid experts

When my bike was stolen from within my own cycle storage of my flat, the team at Laka were super responsive, with the right level of empathy and understood how I was feeling. They helped me to work out the better deal for me to take the money rather than get a new bike, as with my ambitions to have a gravel bike, it was more cost effective for me to have the payout then use my work's cycle to work scheme to get an even better bike. They even suggested some bikes I should look at - which just topped it off! Have recommended to all my cycling pals. Reviewed on: 1st September 2023

Quickest and most supportive insurance company ever!

I’ve had my bike stolen quite shortly after completing my onboarding with Laka. Luckily they made uploading my evidence real easy and I had all the information required submitted. They got me back on the road within a week! Cannot recommend them more, I am riding without worries now and was able to properly invest in bike and gear. Reviewed on: 1st September 2023
