Yes, waiting time on the phone can exceed 20 minutes. Totally unprofessional operator handling my accident clam- careless lorry driver threw or didn't secure plastic canister which rolled onto the lan3 I was driving on motorway, couldn’t do much as lanes were busy and car travelled behind me so had to run it over damaging my car. I Broken front bumper and damaged front wings with scratch on the door according to Provident qualified as write off ??! (Drove back 12 miles slowly as engine control lamp was on). They said it which would trigger giving me replacement car I had on a separate policy. Had to put the complaint to get it and later when engineer did assessment of course car is repairable. It has been 3 weeks and still they can't authorised repair garage with waiting time less than 2 months. Call handler denied that during first call they classified the car as not repairable. There is a reason why garages don't want to deal with them. Lack of empathy, lying (had to complain to receive apologise from some managerial jockey). Once this accident is sorted I immediately changing insurance company. Avoid this shambolic company. Reviewed on: 12th April 2023

Avoid at all costs

More than doubled the insurance because we changed vehicle and after speaking to tbem they said they don't like you changing vehicles, hmmm like we had a choice in that matter Reviewed on: 19th October 2020

Worst car insurance company - not recommended

Worst experience of my life with this company for my car insurance. They make it really difficult for you if you make a claim. They will find all sort of excuses and things in your policy to refuse you the claim payment or repair your car. Their staff is rude and unprofessional. I will not recommend this company to anyone . My advise is to stay away from this company or you will suffer if you need to make a claim later on. Reviewed on: 27th February 2020

Very rude

I phoned to ask how much it would be to chsnge my car. The price they gave me gor a 1.2 corsa was alot more than I was paying for the 1.6astra convertible I slready had insured with them. When I i asked how could the 1.2corsa be more expensive the assistant said take it or lump it! He was very rude throughout the phone call! In January when my insurance expires Im leaving them and never going back. Id rather pay more elsewhere than people tslk to me like that!! Reviewed on: 15th November 2019

A total disaster

Just an unmitigated disaster from beginning to end. Took insurance out in January. A car hit me on June 1st, writing my car off and gave in writing that it was his fault. 10 weeks later and Provident still haven't sorted the excess out. Not only that, they never call me to keep me in the loop. What's more, they did everything possible to pay less than the vehicle was worth. And here is the real funny part, they wouldn't pay the full money as apparently it was overpriced - by MoneyBarn, who are part of the same group. The accident which the other driver admitted responsibility for has cost me thousands and not helped by Provident who only seem to care about getting payments (which unlike them, I always made promptly) Went to but a new car today and had to stop as couldn't list my no claims but had to list my accident. So, results all came back with £3000 excess and massive payments. Thanks for nothing Provident. Reviewed on: 8th August 2019

Affordable and easy for young drivers
