Huge mistake of age.com 2024 switch of Underwriter.

I was with age.com for many years and very satisfied with their ageous underwriter. In 2024 with great fanfare age.com announced it was switching to LV, whose road /home assistance was with Brittania. After 50 years with the AA I reluctantly swopped as the LV cover was cheaper. This year, LV has quoted a renewal sum of £794.19 against last year’s quote of £489.45! They state ‘Your LV Car Insurance won’t renew unless you contact us.’ How many age.com members can afford that increase? I’m livid at having ceased my gold membership with the AA and am sure I’m not alone feeling cast aside. Reviewed on: 19th January 2025

Car Insurance

I initially had a quote for LV via Go Compare but ended up calling LV to chat through a couple of things. The customer service was excellent and the price extremely competitive too. They weren't the cheapest (not by much) but by far the best cover and after having great customer service it made sense to go with LV. Very happy. Reviewed on: 12th August 2022

if you want to lost your non claim bonus years, insure your car with LV

when I got my car insurance with LV= 2 years ago, I already had 9 years Non-Claim bonus years. however, after 2 years with LV= with no claim and no incident, when I decided to move away from them to join the next insurer, LV= said their max non-claim bonus years is 9! check this out https://www.lv.com/car-insurance/how-can-i-get-the-maximum-ncd Reviewed on: 19th July 2022

Good company to deal with

I always shop around for my car insurance at renewal time and I’ve stayed with LV for the lady few years because they always offer good value. Every tine I’ve dealt with them they get close to some of the cheapest quotes , so that and their good reputation , makes me stay with them. Reviewed on: 19th July 2022

,Three half weeks and still no car fixed for a minor accident

Been with LV for a few years and just paid the money each month to insure the car, the first time I've need to make a claim and oh my god what a shamble. They use ABL to fix the vehicles, who have taken over 2 weeks to assess the vehicle and start ordering parts. I'm being advised it's going to take another 2 weeks at best to get the parts and look to return the vehicle totalling 4+ weeks. When contacting LV and ABL neither would look to provide a courtesy vehicle even after agreeing the repair is taking much longer then they would expect. I would stay away from these guys and look to use a company that has correct contracts in place with their suppliers to fix a vehicle in a timely manner. Reviewed on: 15th June 2022

Rude staff

They were very rude on the phone and did not want to fight my case although the dash cam footage shows my car in my lane. I honestly gave up on explaining something so simple to them, it was almost like they just wanted to be blind to it and not take my case the legal route. My advice is don’t waste your money and insure with them, you’re better of paying an extra premium with another insurer and trying your luck elsewhere. Reviewed on: 30th May 2022

Excellent Customer Support

My policy with LV entitles me to drive other vehicles but the policeman who stopped me for no insurance felt he knew better and whilst waiting to speak to LV, told me he intended to seize my car and started filling in a form. When LV answers and confirmed I was insured he was very upset - not a good start to his day. Thanks LV for dealing with him so professionally and promptly. Reviewed on: 12th September 2020
