My renewal price was 50% higher than last year despite making no claims or additions to the policy. One expects that the premiums will increase each year but i'm afraid a 50% increase is excessive. Reviewed on: 7th January 2025

M&S rejected two claims

M&S rejected two claims - one for flooring damage and one for structural damage. The flooring damage was because the flooring was because it was put in by previous owners and 'too old' and the structural damage was because a lintel damage is 'wear and tear'. I thought having an expensive all signing all dancing policy protected us from bad insurers but apparantely not. Awful. Reviewed on: 25th April 2025

I just received my renewal quote over 40% more

Got contents only home insurance.

Got contents only home insurance. Very comprehensive policy, easy to understand. Never needed to make a claim (thank goodness!) so no idea about performance with claims. Only negative was their renewal price was much higher with no option to negotiate so went elsewhere to renew Reviewed on: 1st October 2024

Marks and Spencer’s home insurance was raised by nearly £300.00 per annum totally wrong with no reason why and spoke to a representative on phone who really didn’t care ! So obviously took my insurance elsewhere please check and be careful what you sign up for not a good brand for us disgusted by their not caring attitude would not recommend really bad has put me off any services they offer Reviewed on: 24th September 2024

I have had home & contents insurance with M&S Bank for several years. The premium is low and has gone down every year, although there is a lot included. I haven't had to make a claim, though, so I don't know how good they are on that. Reviewed on: 23rd August 2024

M&S home insurance trying to dismiss my claim.

Our shower tray became damaged accidentally. I have paid for enhanced accidental damage cover but M&S home insurance, underwritten by Aviva, are trying to avoid honouring my claim. This I find so unacceptable. So disappointed. I will not be renewing my policy. Reviewed on: 26th April 2024

3 months on from a small fire still awaiting resolution

3 months on from a small fire and still awaiting full resolution from a company called Sedgwick who work with Aviva. Claim handler NEVER returns calls, having to sign up to multiple ‘portals’ left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. When you call make sure you’ve put aside 45 minutes of your precious time.
