ISA closed without ever being opened!

I applied by post fora postal isa on 28 October porting my old skipton isa over. I have heard nothing until today when I got an email with this survey saying sorry you have closed your account! Seriously?!? I filled in your contact form this morning - no one has replied emailed or called me. Terrible. I have no idea what is going on! I can’t open a new isa until I know this one hasn’t been opened. Terrible terrible service. Reviewed on: 15th November 2024

Due to managing extremely high volumes of applications an administrative error meant a second account was opened and closed before we had the chance to inform you that the first account was successfully opened. AVOID! This bank is totally set in the past.

This bank is totally set in the past. They mess about with little passbooks and still send cheques in the post. You will waste so much time with this bank and their antiquated processes and mindsets. Reviewed on: 5th November 2024

Disappointed

I am used to working with banks that are electronic and you can open accounts instantly online. Having to wait for the post to receive log in details did not work. The account numbers were confusing not the standard 8 numbers it appeared and when i sent money to my supposed new account the money never reached its destination and it was returned. Very poor communication

We gave notice to withdraw some money and the cheques sat in the building Society even though we asked for them to be posted to us. We had to ring up to find out where they were. We then gave notice to close the account several months later and told the building Society we we collect the cheques. A few days prior to the notice period ending we confirmed we would be collecting the cheques and gave a day/time for collecting. We then received a call the following day confirming everything is O.K. We went to collect them and discovered the cheques had been posted out to us???. Not sure why there is a serious breakdown in communication. Reviewed on: 3rd November 2023

Problems receiving money when closing account

To close accounts, the Mansfield doesn't transfer money by fast payments; only by CHAPS (at a charge) or cheques (that take a long time in the post). Reviewed on: 9th October 2023

I opened an account. Sent a deposit. It didn't appear. I panicked. I phoned. Nobody knew why it hadn't appeared, and they didn't seem to be very interested. After two days missing, it showed up. I didn't relish all that stress. I couldn't get it back fast enough.
