Wonderful customer service

On last day of my holiday in Turkey I made a debit card cash transaction in an ATM. On my return home I discovered that a double payment was debited from my account. Customer services were great giving me reassurance, liaising with Turkish Bank and eventually crediting my account with disputed amount. Reviewed on: 9th February 2017

£10 a month but works out £5 if you have enough in your account!

We are pleased with our account - apart from the insurances and breakdown cover that are included in our £10 subscription (works out about £5 / month if you have money in the account - bargain), we pay only 50p / day to go into our overdraft with no other costs which is great for us as we only occasionally need to do this. So far we've had no problems with this account and would recommend it to friends. Reviewed on: 3rd February 2017

Lies about 2 days replacement mobile phone cover

They say if your mobile phone is stolen they give you a replacement in 2 days. This is a lie, first you have to let them know, then they have to POST you a form not email, then you have to send the completed form & receipt of purchase, then after 2 days they will let you know if you are successful on the phone number that you have stolen, so make sure you give them an ulternative number, also chase up your form if it doesn't come in FIRST CLASS, as they say, because I didn't get it in 2 days & when I called them they said sorry there was a problem with our system . I asked if I hadn't called no one would have checked? They just apologised. I expect a response in a month , not a replacement in 2 days. Reviewed on: 27th January 2017

£10 a month well spent

Our cam belt snapped 100 miles from home at 10pm on a Saturday. Myself, my wife and our three boys sitting on the hard shoulder of the M4 wondering what to do. We suddenly remembered about our new nationwide account which we'd opened only 6 weeks earlier. I had no idea what to expect so gave them a call to see if they could help us. I have to say that the service we got, for the money we pay was exceptional. I explained the situation and the first question they asked was if we had children with us. Once I told them I had a 7yo, 1yo and a 4 month old they were very understanding. They arranged a tow truck to take us off the motorway to somewhere safe which arrived within 30 minutes and took us to a local service station to ensure we had toilets etc, then arranged another vehicle to take us all home including the car. We had to wait 2 hours for this bit but the guy did come from south Wales... At each interval Nationwide called us to make sure we were all OK and to give us an update on the situation. The guys on the phone were very calming and professional and seemed to have a genuine interest in our well-being. All in all it took us 6 hours to get home but the added bonus is that nationwide also cover the cost of moving my car from home to a local garage (within 10 miles) and we also get a courtesy car for 2 days while the work is being carried out. I don't even get this level of service from the AA or my car insurance provider. For the sake of £120 a year, this is a real bargain and worth reiterating that ALL the recovery costs are covered. Add in the phone insurance, travel insurance, home appliance repairs, you'd be crazy to bank with anyone else Reviewed on: 3rd December 2016

Worst bank ever would never recommend my bank was frauded and I was refunded and told that this company would not have access to take from my bank again 1 month later the same company took more money and today another £80 was taken and I called the bank to ask them about this and get my money refunded ,, the first time I was frauded I was read a declaration stating any future payments are taken from my account from this company and I will be refunded and today they read the same declaration but said the fraud team will not take on my case because on the system it looks like I've had dealings with them . (I have never heard of this company until the first time my bank was stolen from ) I was told by the fella I put a complaint to that they have the right to take money from my account if I have dealings with them (which I don't) I'm pretty sure the courts do not have the power to steal from you're bank not a happy customer and me,my partner, and my 4 brothers are changing to a bank that will keep our money safe ....corrupt! Excellent account!!

The insurances on the flex plus are amazing. Used the breakdown cover- they had someone out within 15 minutes. Also just claimed on the phone insurance for water damage, they approved my claim the next day and gave me the address to send the phone to. It's been repaired within 2 days and will be returned to me today!! Fantastic service and definitely worth the account fee each month! Well done Nationwide!! Reviewed on: 25th November 2016

Excellent current account with great benefits

This current account comes with a really impressive range of insurances travel, mobile phone, appliances and so on. Although you're paying a £10 per month fee the benefits make it worthwhile, and you also receive interest on your account balance. I've always found Nationwide's customer service to be excellent and would recommend their products to anyone who wants to get away from the 'big banks'. Reviewed on: 22nd November 2016

TRAVEL INSURANCE WORLDWIDE

Made a claim under the Travel Insurance which is handled by UK Insurance as we had to cancel holiday a few days before departure due to health problems. Once we had supplied the requested documentation e.g.. claim form and Dr's letter, the cheque for the full cancellation of the holiday was issued within a week. No if ands or buts, the claim was dealt with very efficiently and in a caring manner. Both of us had existing medical conditions some included some excluded. Worth the monthly fee for the travel insurance alone. Well done Nationwide and UK Insurance. Reviewed on: 2nd September 2016
