The worst companies I have come across

By far one of the worst companies I have ever come across. They have consistently failed to take my direct debit for a year despite my account not changing and speaking to their ‘customer service’. If they cannot do a simple action such as taking payment, I don’t not trust their ability to act as an insurance company. Stay clear, they are torrid company and certainly not capable of offering you insurance. Reviewed on: 19th August 2026

I had never claimed from prefect pets until my dogs...

I had never claimed from perfect pets until my dogs finally visit where she had a blood test and subsequently as this showed she had kidney failure had to be put to sleep . Perfect pets are not perfect they don’t cover euthanasia and they take all remaining premiums. I would not touch them with a barge pole or recommend them to anyone Reviewed on: 10th June 2026

Avoid Perfect Pets at all costs. My dog was injured by a car when he managed to get out of the house and whilst he was fine they refused to cover the x-ray costs citing he wasn't secured. It seems they will do everything to avoid paying out, especially after reading the rest of the reviews here. Aside from the above, their claim process is stuck in the past, paper forms to fill in and scan/fax back. If you do nothing else for your Pet avoid Perfect Pet, you might as well throw your money up the road. Reviewed on: 4th June 2026

Disgraceful company, will do anything to not pay out for a genuine claim. Our dog had surgery in 2022 but it was noted his ears needed cleaning. Because this was noted they are refusing a legitimate claim because the vet cleaned his ears and this constitutes he had a pre-existing condition for allergies !!! Our pet was treated for an itchy stomach and paws. AVOID this place if you want assurance your pet is genuinely covered. Our first claim in two years, these are the worse insurance company and culture ive come across in 55 years. Totally rogue and underhanded robbers. Look at other reviews to confirm their underhanded tactics to refuse claims. Reviewed on: 27th January 2026

Avoid at all costs.

The majority of high ratings from customers seem based on cost of the insurance - and Perfect Pet are certainly competitive. If my personal experience is anything to go by their claims handling process is lamentable and customer service hopkess. I had to escalate to the Ombudsman (who found in my favour). I would give them a wide birth in case your pet falls sick. I’ve used other insurers in the past and never had any issue. Reviewed on: 3rd December 2025

Fantastic and honest insurers

Each time I have spoken to customer services Polly, Kim and Connor, they have been excellent at explaining all of the processes and how to submit claims, even enquiring how my pet was after an operation. I have had some horrific experiences from pet insurance companies, well known ones at that and I can say that Perfectpet insurance are really going the extra mile with my claim at the moment. I found that the customer service advisors actually treated me like I was a human and valued my opinion. Thank you Reviewed on: 19th November 2025
