Review of the Petplan, Pet Insurance:

Expensive and doesn't value loyal customers

Got a quote for 2 new puppies. Have an adult with Pet plan already. Was too expensive so waited about 3 weeks to next pay day went back for another quote and it had gone up £7 Which I thought was a bit much so haven't taken up looking elsewhere. When I queried was told was their best price. I have insured several dogs over last 20 years and never claimed customer service and rewards for loyalty not given so time to ditch and look elsewhere. Stress free pet insurance

I dont think my words can do petplan justice but i will try! Helpful, friendly, caring, no stress. My pet has been so poorly which has been so stressful for me, Petplan took away any added stress of needing to claim and get my pet well. I honestly cant recommend you enough. BEST COMPANY FOR PETS

I had to claim unfortunately due to my 4 year old beloved dog becoming so ill over a period of 5 days before she evening passed. We had to use 3 different vets and a pet hospital. Petplan made the process so easy and took the stress away during a very emotional time. My pet also passed on the 30th December so over new year which didn't impact the claim times. Top level service

On the few occasions I have had to call Petplan the customer service has always been fantastic. From making a claim, to simply changing address, advisors are talkative, avoiding awkward silences, yet genuinely caring. Claims have been easy by simply uploading details online. I have no worry that should I ever need petplan for anything more serious, everything will be taken care of competently. Reviewed on: 10th July 2023

Came to the Rescue

Petplan paid up promptly when my cat had an accident but took three months before a rare illness was paid, unfortunately an adviser initially declined the claim but after complaining they apologised and accepted the claim should have been referred to their internal vet for consideration. Advisable to get the ultimate lifetime policy as vets fees are astronomical even for simple procedures. And as as soon as you get your pet, without delay. Reviewed on: 31st May 2023

Scammer !!!!!!!!!!

(In Canada) Fetch by the Dodo (previously known as Petplan) is an unethical, untrustworthy and horrible company. For someone who is planning to enroll pet insurance, it’s better to avoid this company. I enrolled the pet insurance for my dog aged 3 months in 2021. At that moment, there was no medical check up report request but I was asked for it when I submitted a claim after 4 months because my dog got diarrhea. I felt upset and frustrated as there was no point to get a medical check up report after a vet visit with spending additional $200 for claiming $150. The most ridiculous point was that a medical report was not required when the pet insurance was enrolled. But you will be asked for it when you make a claim” That was totally unacceptable. They just don’t want to give you a claim !!!!! I received the announcement from Petplan by an email about they exited Canada business. This was a release to me as I do not have to deal with this company anymore. However, they took my card info and debited the annual fee again and refused to refund. I have never authorized Fetch by the Dodo to make a payment from my card after 2021. I called the customer service for a negotiation. Of course, they refused to refund. They have never provided a proper service to their customers but keep stealing the money from their pocket. Recently, I found out that there were a lot bad comments about this company. I write this as I wish no more pet owners will be another victim. As a pet owner, I just want to get a protection to my dog but I am kinda getting in a scam. Reviewed on: 17th May 2023

Has been very helpful

My boyfriend and I got a 7 month kitten who came with 1 month free pet plan which we then continued on an annual basis. He was unfortunately in and out of the vets a lot. The claims were initially confusing as we had had a free 1 month trial before extending. I initially called PetPlan and had amazing customer service although there was still a small issue. The surgery were able to resolve this with PetPlan and going forward, the claims have been very straightforward and hassle free. Amazing peace of mind Reviewed on: 8th February 2023

Such an easy way to get good cover for your pet

Pet Plan is a SCAM

Pet Plan is an Absolute SCAM. You’re premium goes up every year excessively in jumps like £15 to £20. Started off at £35 and eight years later is £105 . They cover absolutely nothing . The £780 dental work was considered cosmetic and not covered . I have stopped the insurance now as the first time I make a claim because my dog got sick, nothing was covered because I had to pay 20% excess deductible which was the cost of the visit and so Pet Plan wiggled their way out of paying anything. I paid and they didn’t . I cannot for the life of me understand why I have been paying thousands of pounds over the years and nothing nothing nothing was ever covered under their terms . Pet Plan are a scum insurance . Put your money in a bank account for your pet and pay for things this way . Note I was paying £105 per month for a £4000 coverage Do you know that a simple scan and test was priced at £8000 so even if you have pet insurance your £4000 doesn’t even get you a test result let alone any treatment . And your excess on a £4000 claim will be £800 . So the actual coverage is only £3200. Meanwhile in four years you could have £5000 in your pets bank account and in 8 years over £10,000 saved for treatment . I massively regret paying into Pet Plan all these years .
