Flooding in Dubai led to our flight being cancelled.

1
Flooding in Dubai led to our flight being cancelled. Insurance adjusters Collinson Group are being devious, misquoting the Post Office Travel Policy and conveniently failing to mention the key part. A natural catastrophe includes flooding. Yes, it does, but actually the policy refers to flooding of 50 sq km! Dubai flooding was far smaller byt Collinson can't see it. This is Post Office 'Premier' policy for goodness sake. This is ongoing and I'm taking it further. Avoid, avoid, avoid. This is another Post Office scandal in the making. How many others? Do NOT use Post Office insurance

1
We used Post Office insurance as they SHOULD be a reputable company. The cost was sensible, but when we wanted to make a claim (a missed port on a cruise) we discovered they are absolute rubbish. Their contact number keeps saying "use online" and when I eventually got to talk to "Kirk" I just got cut off as soon as I said I wanted to make a claim. I logged onto their portal - nowhere to make a claim, you have to register again on a separate site to make a claim, and then enter huge amounts of detail they should already have, before finding "missed port" is not a claim reason on their fixed list of reasons! Awful, obviously specifically aiming to never pay out. Reviewed on: 9th April 2024

AVOID POST OFFICE TRAVEL( COLLINSON GROUP)

AVOID! AVOID! CRIMINAL COMPANY THAT WILL CRIMINALISE YOU AND RUIN YOUR FINANCIAL RECORD! (Post Office Travel Insurance use Collinson Group for their claims) *THESE ARE CRIMINAL PEOPLE ..MALICIOUS AVOID! AVOID! CRIMINAL COMPANY THAT WILL CRIMINALISE YOU AND RUIN YOUR FINANCIAL RECORD! (Post Office Travel Insurance use Collinson Group for their claims) *THESE ARE CRIMINAL PEOPLE WHO MALICIOUSLY DESTROY YOUR FINANCIAL RECORD AND LIFE IF YOU DON'T PLAY THEIR GAMES* My story begins with a simple stolen money claim whilst in Geneva. I submitted all the documents asked for including a police report (which took 6 hours to get because on this night the main police in Geneva was closed) Collinson group then reply from a claims handler named Adbul-Muiz. Further investigations reveal what others have written about here, that indeed they are based in Nigeria/South Africa. Collinson contract their services out to staff in Nigeria! You trust your documents to these people? A country with highest UK targeted fraud in the world. So HERE IS WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING.....The staff in that office ask me for, and I quote "a cell phone bill". We don't call a mobile phone contract, "a cell phone bill", so further proof this is Nigerians! This was AFTER submitting 2 bank statements from FCS registered UK high street banks! Since when does an insurance company ask for further proof of address if bank statements are not enough? I have been a victim of Identity Theft previously and so I was not happy to provide further proof of address to a NIGERIAN office given they already had 2 high street bank statements and a copy of my passport, so I gave then a slimmed down copy of an ID mobile invoice that had been run through Norton Identity Advisor Plus which removes certain data and adds certain 'blurs' so it does not allow someone to use it to open a bank account etc. but is sufficient proof for a company to check address with the company or from credit reference file. NEXT THING I HEAR IS COLLINSON HAVE ADDED A CIFAS MARKER TO MY CREDIT FILE! This marker stops you opening any bank account or getting any financial product for 6 years!!! and will cause all your bank accounts, credit cards etc to be closed!!! COLLINSON GROUP WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE! AVOID! THIS IS A TRUE STORY, CONTACT ME IF YOU WANT FURTHER PROOF. They will delay delay and hope you give up

1
I had a simple claim. Our return home flight was cancelled as the pilot was sick. We returned home a day later. It’s simple £100 is payable. First they demanded the actual boarding cards of the two flights and a message from B A confirming the delay and giving the reason. “Operational” was not an acceptable reason, but even though I told BA that, the reason came back as operational. It shouldn’t matter. There was a delay. Then having sent that, they questioned me about the length of my trip. I needed to send details of the outgoing flight to prove I was not away more than 30 days. Then I waited, getting messages saying how busy they were.i then sent them a note to say I was complaining to the insurance ombudsman and they had 8 weeks to deal with this..They paid me the £200 next day. I have no confidence in this company. They make it as difficult as they possibly can, hoping you will give up and go away, just like the airlines do. Next time I’ll pay a little more and get insured by someone other than the Post office. Let’s face it, with their current reputation what else did I expect. Reviewed on: 13th March 2024

Worst insurance company ever

1
I totally agree with all the other reviews, they are totally useless. My husband was taken ill abroad and went into hospital for 2 weeks. Luckily I went to the local hospital and got free treatment with the global health card and had to show his passport. My husband had to stay another week so I had to book a hotel and flights which I am claiming for. This was end of September and I am still waiting. Every time you speak to someone you have to start over again. I emailed many times the relevant documents and I also sent them recorded. Every time you ring they say they are busy with many claims. I would never use them again, so be warned Reviewed on: 14th December 2023

Not a Happy Customer

1
The Insurers (Collinson under writers) put every barrier to prevent paying out my full Claim. I required Hospital treatment which I was admitted for 1 night. I was not in a position to ring company. On my return home I contacted them provided the necessary information formy Injury. It has taken 7 mouths for them to come to a decision which I am not happy about. I will be taking my case to the Financial Ombudsman. I would not recommend Post Office Travel Insurance. Reviewed on: 14th December 2023

Useless scammers

1
If I could give a minus star I would. I was robbed on holiday, my bag taken with my phone, credit card, prescription glasses etc, a total value of around £1000+. After asking me for the documentation 3 times, and 3 months later (after many emails to them), they decided that the bag - that was on the chair in which I was sat and did not get up from - had been left "unattended" and since I was unable to chase the thief (???) therefore my claim was denied. So after another 3 months, relentless emails to remind them I had not forgotten about my claim, and eventually having to email the CEOs (very useful tactic, got a response immediately) they decided that due to the 20% decrease in value of my items, they are worth £100. Doesn't even buy me one lens! Every time I contacted somebody, I was met with "we are very busy at the moment, due to an unusually high volume of claims"....sure...like dealing with insurance claims ISN'T your job? So, do not use this service, they are useless, slow, don't care about their customers, and only cover stolen phones up to £100. Reviewed on: 7th December 2023
