Review of the Post Office, Car insurance:

Deducted additional £13.74 on basis no fault claim was not declared.

1
I received letter dated 17/07/2020 from Post Office Money stating they would deduct further £13.74 on my recently agreed car insurance policy unless I had LV Insurance send in writing that CUE information they had declared in 2017 was wrong. After three calls to LV insurance they provided a letter stating the claim in 2017 was a no fault claim which I forwarded by email as instructed on 30/07/2029 to [email protected]. I then received further letter from Post Office Money dated 6/08/2020 stating that the premium of £13.74 would still be deducted or I could cancel policy for a charge £55.00. I therefore telephoned and was informed that the charge was due to my non declaration at time of application. So in fact I had completely wasted my time fulfilling their instructions. My previous insurer Ageas made no issue about the matter. I feel Post Office Money have ripped me off and wasted my time. I will certainly never deal with them again. I have the impression that they are a dodgy Insurance outfit trading under a prestigious company’s name. Reviewed on: 10th August 2020

Cancellation car sale

The cancellation charge is only £1 less than the remaining charges. Inequitable and not an encouragement to use this company again. NEVER! Reviewed on: 17th February 2017

Waste of time

1
Firstly whilst completing the on line quote application my car registration (Been insured elsewhere for 8 years!) couldn't be found. Then when I filled in details of my car it insisted it had automatic gears which it hasn't and finally when clicked to get quote it said there was a problem and to get the quote click continue - this took me back to the start with all data erased. Forget it! Useless waste of time Reviewed on: 26th August 2016

They Guarantee to beat your renewal quote ...... but when they don't !!!!!

1
Letter received from Post Office July 2016 - We Guarantee to Beat your renewal quote by at least £50. Sounded too good to be true but ... I rang. Went through the whole car insurance questions and their quote was over £200 MORE than my renewal quote - so I said I would email my renewal quote and they could then confirm they would match and give me £50. SURPRISE, surprise ..... they informed me I had to sign up for their policy at the price quoted and then send in the documents and they would scrutinise them to confirm it was a like for like and then refund me the £250 plus. I wasn't falling for that one! BEWARE promises they probably won't keep! Reviewed on: 10th August 2016

Reasonably priced car insurance

I have used this company for car insurance for the last few years. They are always competitively priced and offer hire cars. I have always been able to reach them when needed. Reviewed on: 3rd August 2016

Cheap insurance

I have insured my car for 2 years running with the Post Office. Details are sent through quickly and the overall cost includes a lot of extras which are often not included with other insurers. I believe the cost is extremely competitive hence renewing again this year. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015
