Do not use "Post Office" travel insurance take a nettle with you at least when you touch it you will know you have been stung. Mere criminals maskarading as legitimate traders. We all know insurance is a con in most cases, not worth the paper it's written on but never thought such a recognised brand could act so low. Living in a rural area with no public transport or contactable taxi service, our own vehicle our lifeline about to set out 04:15 for flight 07:15 discovering our battery was flat and rushed around for an alternative, try that in a rural area 5am. Long story short missed my flight and paid a rescue fee to Easyjet next available flight, 3 days later obviously missing that period of my holiday also. Having this misfortune remembering my Post Office insurance I saw a very dim light at the end of the tunnel, which was soon extinguished when I reached out to "Post Office" claims call handlers. Twice relaying my predicament they hung up, all stuck in some sweat shop in India, had loose understanding of the English language and even less in the use of the language. Then questioned like a criminal as if I intensionally missed my flight, loosing three days of my holiday!!. Luckily I've had the misfortune of coming across such charlatans before and well versed in the services of the Financial Ombudsman, which I can assure the Post Office is where they are going to be overhauled. Worst insurance company ever

I totally agree with all the other reviews, they are totally useless. My husband was taken ill abroad and went into hospital for 2 weeks. Luckily I went to the local hospital and got free treatment with the global health card and had to show his passport. My husband had to stay another week so I had to book a hotel and flights which I am claiming for. This was end of September and I am still waiting. Every time you speak to someone you have to start over again. I emailed many times the relevant documents and I also sent them recorded. Every time you ring they say they are busy with many claims. Not a Happy Customer

The Insurers (Collinson under writers) put every barrier to prevent paying out my full Claim. I required Hospital treatment which I was admitted for 1 night. I was not in a position to ring company. On my return home I contacted them provided the necessary information formy Injury. It has taken 7 mouths for them to come to a decision which I am not happy about. I will be taking my case to the Financial Ombudsman. I would not recommend Post Office Travel Insurance. Reviewed on: 14th December 2023

Useless scammers

If I could give a minus star I would. I was robbed on holiday, my bag taken with my phone, credit card, prescription glasses etc, a total value of around £1000+. After asking me for the documentation 3 times, and 3 months later (after many emails to them), they decided that the bag - that was on the chair in which I was sat and did not get up from - had been left "unattended" and since I was unable to chase the thief (???) therefore my claim was denied. So after another 3 months, relentless emails to remind them I had not forgotten about my claim, and eventually having to email the CEOs (very useful tactic, got a response immediately) they decided that due to the 20% decrease in value of my items, they are worth £100. Doesn't even buy me one lens! Every time I contacted somebody, I was met with "we are very busy at the moment, due to an unusually high volume of claims"....sure...like dealing with insurance claims ISN'T your job? So, do not use this service, they are useless, slow, don't care about their customers, and only cover stolen phones up to £100. Reviewed on: 7th December 2023

We took out Post Office Travel Insurance on the recommendation of a friend and it was possibly one of the worst decisions we have ever made. My wife suffered a traumatic head injury whilst we were in Germany six months ago and is now, thankfully, on the mend - but our claim for medical fees rumbles on! Despite the fact we presented Post Office Insurance / Collinson's with every piece of information they requested, we were left without any contact whatsoever for the first three months and then when we called for an update, were told the claim had been overlooked and they would need to resurrect it - from the beginning!! Every obstacle at every juncture has been put in our way to prevent us making the claim, requesting and re-requesting information, making us jump through unnecessary hoops in the hope we would give up. You certainly need to be made of stern stuff to succeed with the Post Office / Collinson's - if you want travel insurance cover do not use either of these companies. Reviewed on: 30th November 2023

May be easy to pay for but getting your claim sorted has taken 10 months so far of emails with no answer so far. We had provided all documents in March 2023 and they keep on asking us to email exactly the same documents again and again hoping... that we will forget? After submitting an official complaint we will contact the ombudsman or seek legal representation. Very unhappy. Reviewed on: 2nd October 2023

WISHED I HAD BROUGHT INSURANCE ELSEWHERE

They do not have a clue what they are doing! I wish i had not brought insurance from them. I have had various phone calls ( when they answer the phone) each time giving me a different reason for the complete mess they seem to have made of my claim! it was a simple claim and it has turned into a nightmare. Post Office Travel Insurance

It was very easy to set up my travel insurance via the Post Office app. Follow-up comms was excellent and everything is in one place on the app. Very impressed. I would definitely recommend. Reviewed on: 12th September 2023

They don't pay out

Booked a cruise, my first holiday in 6 years. Couldn't travel due to illness - all signed up by my GP. They won't pay out because they are "overworked". It has taken them 6 months so far. I am a SubPostmaster and have removed Post Office Travel Insurance from sale. Reviewed on: 9th September 2023
