Do not recommend Worst insurance service ever

1
My insurance was arranged through rac who use markusstudy who use vision repairs I had an accident on 9th December 2022 it took them till January to take my car to a garage from storage as it is not roadworthy then it had to be assessed and approved which it has been but still no updates as to whether work has started you cannot get a hold of anyone, you cannot get updates they don't update their portal. I am still waiting for a courtesy car which should have been included in my insurance but they didn't. So have to wait for the repair garage to supply one which I was told 6 week wait. I was told last week I was next on list for a courtesy car but still no further updates I have phoned everyday this week I have lost count how many times I have phoned since my accident. Its ridiculous I'm a community Nurse and my car is essential too my job. The courtesy car is non existent. I will never use these services again iv never known anything like it. Its not acceptable and certainly would never recommend Reviewed on: 3rd February 2023

do not trust them

1
When I wanted to have my insurance, they were so pleased offering. However, when I sold my car and bought a new one, they told me to cancel my policy. Today I called them and discovered I could change my approach for another vehicle. I am a student; I paid 150 for cancellation. This was like stealing! When I told them about this, they told me they were sorry! Don't trust them anyway. Very very unsatisfied with them. Reviewed on: 21st January 2023

Worst Insurance company

1
Worst Insurance agency i ever had.very Poor customer service. You will never get to know what they really want from you. Always send notification of cancellation exceeding the date so that they can take extra money from you by saying different things. If you want to upload a document they need to charge you huge amount. Really disappointed with their service. Reviewed on: 19th January 2023

Misleading poor customer service

1
They don’t take responsibility. Customer service is average. They use a 3rd party company soo they can pass the buck. Only get the black box if your planning to renew or manage your driving. otherwise it’s not worth it. You have pay for the black box to be removed. Which they hide in their small print. Good luck fellow drivers. Reviewed on: 18th January 2023

Terrible customer service

I had a 2 month nightmare trying to get fair treatment after my parked car was damaged by drunk driver. RAC use a company called IMS to deal with your claim. They are impossible to get hold of either by phone or email. RAC do not help. Left me with no claim payment or courtesy car 2 days before Xmas. Reviewed on: 13th January 2023

Never insure your car with RAC

1
I had an accident on M1 last Thursday 15th December. My car is still in the car pound ( 8 days later )where it was towed to. No one knows where it’s going, or when . I was told today will not be in a garage till probably New Year. When they can decide what garage to send it to. Despite paying for a courtesy car I can’t have one till it gets to the unknown garage and then only if they have one available. So will have been without a car for weeks . Also despite paying to protect my No claims bonus ,( I have 8 years ) have been told I will lose it as my car skidded on ice and went out of control . Takes ages to get through on the phone and then no one can help you. I used RAC because I thought it would be a reliable good company if I ever needed to claim on my insurance. How wrong was I ? Never insure your car with this company they are absolutely rubbish . I would give minus 1 if possible . Reviewed on: 23rd December 2022

Expensive cancellation policy

2
I was insured for just a months and I sold my car. When I wanted to cancel it I had to pay £94 cancellation fee which is far too high. So, my insurance for just 5 weeks cost me £220.00. Also, cancellation cannot be done online so, I had to call, wait for 20 minutes and cancel the policy. Absolutely disgusted with it. Reviewed on: 23rd December 2022

Complete waste of money and massive increased stress

1
So my tyre burst on Sunday evening. Called RAC at 18:50. Assistant found my location, took details. Told me it would be at least an hour and a half. Text message cane through saying 180 minutes. It was pouring with rain so I pulled car well off road and sat in the passenger seat. At 21:55, text came through saying “ We're sending one of our drivers to rescue you. We'll be in touch shortly with the details.”. Then another text at 11pm “ Sorry if you're still waiting. It's very busy but one of our drivers will be with you as soon as possible.” That was the last text until Wednesday afternoon “ Just to confirm, we're now working to get a local RAC patrol to you”. A friend collected me and to me home before midnight. I was freezing and very scared sitting by myself on the side of the road. On calling and updating RAC, the person said they MAY be able to send someone earliest 1:30 Monday morning. I was given a ref number. After many calls holding for more than 30 minutes a time. I had a voicemail come through sometime during early hours of the morning say she hoped I was somewhere warm, dry and safe. I finally got hold of a gentleman at RAC on the Monday morning. He said they were still working on getting me rescued. I was really upset on the phone and he did apologise. In the meantime, I called a tyre man who came out on Monday and changed the tyre. It took 10 min and has cost my money that I really did not have. I am extremely grateful to R&R Tyres for their help. Late yesterday I had a call from the RAC breakdown man who informed me he was on his way to my location to rescue me! There will be a massive complaint going in to RAC and Hastings Direct. I am not sure I can easily forget my experience. Reviewed on: 22nd December 2022

If you want to make a claim process as difficult as you can for yourself, definitely go with the RAC

1
Rang to report a non fault accident. Then had to ring the underwriters myself and go through all the details again. Then the same with the motor legal protection team. When trying to call back with further information it took one week and around 100hrs on hold, getting through to agents that put you on hold and cut you off. I have full comprehensive insurance with courtesy car yet still am no closer to getting a courtesy car than I was a week ago, my car hasn't been recovered. One week and they've done nothing. Avoid like the plague. They don't pass information on to the other companies they want you to use so each call is like a first time you've called about it all over again. All this whilst dealing with broken bones, concussion and a banging headache is the last thing you want (trust me on that one) Reviewed on: 12th December 2022
