Review of the Scottish Building Society, Savings:

Professional, pleasant, calm

It was my first experience with investing in Scottish Building Society. What a professional experience it was. Very happy. I have already shared my thoughts with others. Reviewed on: 29th August 2024

Once again, excellent service from Mudassar. Reviewed on: 31st January 2025

Good simple service

Opening a savings account was easier. No appointment required and your colleagues completed the application on our behalf. Like having a passbook and face-to-face savings. More branches if possible would be good (e.g. Falkirk). Reviewed on: 31st January 2025

Excellent

The staff were very helpful, the main reason for opening account was the Society is Scottish and has no connections to any English banks. A more local branch would be handy. Reviewed on: 30th January 2025

Steady, reliable, friendly

Overall a good experience. I think the longevity of the Society helps with confidence - particularly in a changing world. It's a shame you shut down so many of your face-to-face branhes/outlets - it was one of the reasons I joined - there was an outlet in Kirkcudbright - however I am still a customer online. The website is a little clunky and don't find it that easy to navigate. Reviewed on: 30th January 2025

Very helpful

Small friendly branch, very helpful. No privacy at desk if branch is busy though. Reviewed on: 30th January 2025

Accessible, efficient, friendly

Ease of access and efficient operation with helpful and pleasant staff. Reviewed on: 30th January 2025

I enjoy dealing with the Scottish. Nice, personal service. Good member rates available, online services improving although still very reliant on post in some instances. I enjoy dealing with a building society. Reviewed on: 30th January 2025

Traditional good service

Communication with known member of staff both in person and by phone has been extremely important - and hugesly appreciated as I negotiate the ups and downs of managing paperwork on behalf of my mother. I feel very confident that SBS have and continue to act as a trustworthy, reliable, secure company for my mother's best interests. Reviewed on: 29th January 2025

I preferred the office before the staff were all hidden away through the back. Reviewed on: 29th January 2025

The quality of service at your Glasgow branch is very good. I was disappointed that you did not maintain a superior interest rates with your loyalty cash ISA. This is not uncommon amongst building societies to do this. The interest rate in the fixed rate ISA bond 64 is very good and is more that comparable with other building societies.
