Absolutely dreadful ...

I used to have home insurance with Swinton - they made numerous errors on the initial paperwork and, on asking them to rectify them, made only some amendments so I had to keep going back to them. They never answered the phone at our local office and only sent out the paperwork after numerous requests. They could not do anything right whatsoever! Reviewed on: 22nd August 2016

Don't get insurance with Swinton insurance company!!!!!!

Swinton is the worst insurance company . I had a home insurance with accidental damage and my little daughter dropped water on our LED 3d smart TV which I've bought 3 years ago about 500 pound and LED screen was broken because of water and it was just audio on it. I tried to fix it and dried with hair dryer but didn't work. I claimed for accidental damage and they came and collected the tv and after about 3 weeks , they told me that it happened because of wear & tear no water damage and they declined our claim. I explained everything but they didn't accept the water damage. Swinton is not responsible for your claim and complain. I canceled our policy with Swinton and I don't recommend it Swinton Insurance. Fantastic Customer Service

I recently moved home and as I rent needed to arrange just contents insurance and my landlord had to arrange cover for tenants,As I had my own items stored in the garage and my landlord had some of his items stored in there we decided to contact Swinton direct.They were fantastic and dealt with us both individually ensuring that we were covered for each of our items and ensured we understood the policy. Unbelievable fees

In 2014 Swinton wanted to charge me £50 cancellation fee on a policy that had only cost me £60 and only had 7 days left to run. What a joke. I got it back after arguing with them but I won't ever use them again, even if they are the cheapest. Reviewed on: 6th March 2016

Didn't feel like the person had knowledge of the product

Felt as if she was really literally just reading off a script. She was very nice but it felt really a bit impersonal. It was my first time buying house insurance and just felt a bit like I wasn't getting genuine advice, more like scripted words Reviewed on: 5th March 2016

Great experience with Swinton

I have been a customer with Swinton Home Insurance for the past 15 years. At one point, I had a growing crack on one of my walls and one of their contractors came and fixed the problem to the highest possible standard. Every year, before my cover runs out I receive a friendly call from Swinton offering me a quote. Every time I negotiate them and they reduce the price and offer me £20 cash back if I pay my insurance quickly. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015

Hi I like my local branch as very helpful but not as helpful over the phone

I have had insurance with Swinton for a couple of years all was good. How ever have now changed as found cheaper but the 2 years I was there I had good experience with them all a can say go in branch as help mor face to face Reviewed on: 8th November 2015

Consistently good prices and service

I look after the home insurance for my elderly mother ann we have used Swinton for the past 5 years. Their renewal quotes are competitive, and their customer service excellent, which we had to find out the hard way after a burglary in 2012. The way it was handled was superb, and we received a pay-out within a fortnight. Reviewed on: 7th November 2015

Very Helpful

I find my local Swintons branch to be very helpful. It's nice to be able to talk to someone face to face about my insurance needs rather than dealing with a call centre. It's also nice to be able to speak to the same person every time and develop a relationship with them rather than speaking to someone different every time. Each year they always find me the best quote and cover. I'm very happy to use them and I can't see myself switching away from them. Reviewed on: 25th August 2015
