Saved £100 switching

Returned to Swinton after 8 years with Direct Line - they got too expensive. Usual raft of questions - some impossible to answer so best guessing. But it's the same no matter who you deal with. Doing it On-line was straightforward. Reviewed on: 20th September 2017

They made a mistake but put it right

I've used Swintons for a number of years for home insurance,this year I received my insurance documents with out the usual letter telling me how much our insurance would be.Most years the letter arrives saying the insurance will be so much ,at which point I usually start looking on comparison websites for cheaper quotes (like for like). When this didn't happen this year ,I just telephoned their (uk based) call center ,I spoke to a lovely lady who said a renewal letter had been sent out the previous month and apologized for it not turning up. The lady then calculated the cost of a new policy and gave a discount when I said I had a quote from an online comparison site cheaper. Job sorted no fuss and I understood every word the lady said. I love their personal service

I've used lots of insurance companies in the past, but have found it's often difficult to speak to anyone if you have queries or a claim. Swinton are great, you can speak direct to agents and go through your policy to make sure it's exactly what you want. Reviewed on: 12th August 2017

Friendly staff and competitive rates

I've used Swinton Insurance a few times now for car and home insurance. They're often the cheapest and the customer service is very good, I've always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Reviewed on: 22nd July 2017

Rude and threatening.

Had an awful experience when they threatened to visit my house with bailiffs to recover £72 they thought I owed. It was a admin mistake, which they admitted but didn't apologise. I cancelled my insurance and went with someone else. Reviewed on: 16th July 2017

OVERFLATED RENEWAL COST BUT EXCELLENT OUTCOME

I received a letter informing me that my house insurance was due for renewal shortly and in view of the fact my son had just purchased an expensive pushbike, I rang their customer services number to enquire about its cover. The young man I spoke to was polite and courteous and gave me details of our present policy but told me that as from August the price would increase. I told I was disappointed regarding this so he tried his best to improve on the cost but to no avail. However he then went on to offer us a loyalty price which would save us a considerable amount over the year. I was also very pleased to learn that my son's pushbike was already included and would be fully insured. All in all I commend the company and would recommend them. Reviewed on: 15th July 2017

Very friendly and efficient service

I have used the Farnham Common branch for many years. The team there are second to none. They are always willing to help and nothing is too much trouble. I can thoroughly recommend them to anyone. Reviewed on: 6th July 2017

Customer Service

Appalling customer service in Sunderland branch. I made a formal complaint to Swintons' national complaints team who dealt with it in a very prompt and professional manner however feedback was no action would be taken by manager of branch. Reviewed on: 24th January 2017

Look after me

I have nothing negative to say about Swinton. They're fair and have my best interests at heart. They shop around each renewal and make sure I have the best price for the best cover. Reviewed on: 3rd October 2016
