Luke was very friendly and professional whilst talking us through the steps of transferring funds into a Family Building Society bond. Read my review and don't take out a 5 year bond..

I had a 5 year bond with the society which expired mid october 24. As I was out of the country at the time, the society decided to reinvest my money in to another 5 year bond. I contacted them immediatley when I returned in December and contacted them to ask for the money to be returned to me as I did not with for another 5 year bond as I am elderlay and wnted the moeny. In papaerowrk provided, I was told that I could close the bond early but would loose any interest. I wasn't worried about this as the bond has only been in for 6 weeks, however I was told I could only close the bond if I paid the sum of £1030! This is disgusting and was never pointed out to me in previous dealings. I will be taking this matter further. Reviewed on: 30th December 2024

What's not to like?

I've been saving with the FBS for several years and have always had good experiences when I've needed to speak to staff there. They offer competitive interest rates, useful products with excellent customer service, and one can always speak to a person there quite easily. Recently, I invested in some Windfall Bonds because these offer a good interest rate with the chance of winning a monetary prize, and I've been fortunate enough to win! Decent Interest Rate on Savings

I have a savings account that pays a decent interest rate when compared to other societies. I like the fact that you don't get marketing emails every five minutes and only get important updates to interest rates and account changes. I also like the website and how quick and easy it is to log in and not have to go through page after page to get to my account information. Nice, simple and streamlined. The service from David Hobbs from Family BS has been amazing. I have had many accounts with many banks and building societies but nothing has been quite like the service that I received from you.
