Very good service

I have been using fixed term savings with the FBS for some years now. I found the account easy to set up and their customer service is excellent, with someone usually picking up the phone within 5 minutes. Their savings interest rates are usually competitive, although less so now in April 2026. Reviewed on: 7th April 2026

2025 "Performance"

In the 2025 Members Update document we can read all about the BS's performance [or lack of] compared to the CEO's renumeration package. In 2025, based on total assests of just short of £3billion, they actually made a pre-tax loss of £0.4million. I mean - do they actually know what they are doing? Anyone organisation that has access to £billion and can't make a profit needs to change career. Based on this shocking performance the CEO's total renumeration package was £462,000. He actually had the nerve to award himself a £37,000 "performance" bonus. And his salary is the tip of the iceberg when we also add other directors, and cling-ons. For example, S. Wainwright drew £73,000 but what did he add to the £3bn assets versus £0.3mn loss? Reviewed on: 31st March 2026

Closure of account and transfer to another provider handled incorrectly and two lengthy conversations to find out why. Subsequent email confirmed transaction now handled correctly but at no time was an apology given/ Reviewed on: 30th March 2026
