Family BS - An Excellent Home for Fixed-Term Savings

Just opened a new 1 year fixed rate bond with Family. Already an online customer, so did it all online. Extremely straightforward to do. Excellent rate. Bond funded via Debit card, there and then, so no messing about with cheques in post. Formal confirmation of the new bond i.e. the certificate arrived in post within 3-4 days of opening the account. Can't find fault with the rate, the process or the customer service. Highly recommended. Reviewed on: 25th July 2026

Renewal of savings bond

I phoned to renew my fixed rate bond which was due to mature. i am slightly hard of hearing but the adviser spoke very clearly and i had no problem understanding him. The process was quick and easy and I would recommend saving with this Building Society. Reviewed on: 24th July 2026

Excellent customer service experience

I rang customer service for help to move a recently matured bond to one with a higher interest rate than the one it had matured into and within the deadline given as I could not do this online. Sophie answered very quickly, understood my request and sorted it out immediately. I was very impressed. Reviewed on: 17th July 2026

I'd been locked out of my account.

Fabulous customer service from Phoebe

Needs work on telephone system

Your telephone system is antiquated, very poor response and the on hold music repeats every 10 seconds. Really poor. The person who took my call eventually was very good and very professional Reviewed on: 9th July 2026

Family Building Society - Always a good experience.

Contacted FBS in telephone. Spoke to a very courteous, calm, efficient & knowledgable gentleman. I have been a savings customer of FBS for a number of years. Even though I was contacting them to withdraw funds to deposit with a competitor, they were genuine in their sentiment when they said that they hoped I would be back with them again soon.
