Default notice by mistake!

I have 2 credit cards, one with Capital which I’ve had no issues with and the second with Virgin. When I initially got my card I made a purchase of £700 on an office desktop which froze my account so I rang Virgin and they resolved the issue an hour later being able to make the purchase, which was the first issue nothing major and easily sorted by their team. A month goes by and my app and online account is blocked which initially disrupted my payments I was told a couple of months later I could use a sort code and account number with a reference to pay via my bank direct, they also told me they blocked my account because I needed to send them identification 3 months after using my card which I found rather unusual, assuming this is something they should have done when applying not after using it 3 months later. To top it off my app and online account is still blocked having been told various times through the year it was a mistake and is now resolved safe to say it isn’t a year later. I’ve now received 3 letters, 2 dated the 10th of March and 1 the 12th of march. One tells me I am late on 2 payments, yet my most recent statement tells me I have no fees and I only owe for the following month coming and then the third letter tells me my accounts gone to default and I owe the full amount on my account. After all this I’ve rang and an hour in the team at Virgin said it’s a mistake and admitted fault and they are now in the process of trying to reverse the default notice which will impact my credit file for the next 6 years. I’ve been told I’ll be called back again twice now but with my original issue still standing a year later I’m not looking forward to the final outcome. Reviewed on: 18th March 2024

Treated like criminal - I was victim of £18k fraud

My credit card has £18k of fraud. I only found this out when I checked my credit report. I called them and they refuse to talk to me unless I post them in ID documents. They also locked my logins. I begrudgingly posted them anow they demand I post them proof of my old address which is near impossible for me to obtain. I work in compliance, and this is gravely irresponsible on their behalf. The request is also more than overreach of what they need. They can easily access all this electronically. I cannot begin to describe the stress this has caused me. Please think long and hard before using this organisation. They are not on your side and treat you like a criminal when you are the victim of fraud. Reviewed on: 11th March 2024

Points make prizes!

Took out a virgin Atlantic points credit card and the introductory offer was amazing. Whilst there is an annual fee to pay, this is more than offset by the upgrade / companion voucher that we received after 3 months! The airlines continue to accumulate and we can look forward to entry of travel in the future! Reviewed on: 4th March 2024

oh my dear what a real pain in the backside this comapny is to deal with any problems. always a glitch or a computer error, wrong department, i dont understand you, im not autorised to deal with this , i cant help you, log into the app (the reason im calling is i cannot do so) i have never heard so many excuses or poor operatives for a supposedly good company. once this is all sorted never again. Absolutely useless company

I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience with Virgin Money's customer service, and I feel compelled to share my frustration to warn others. The lack of professionalism and disregard for customer concerns displayed by this company is truly disheartening. My initial contact with them was through a phone call to address an unauthorized charge that appeared on my account. The representative I spoke to demonstrated a complete lack of empathy and failed to provide any satisfactory resolution. I was appalled by their dismissive attitude towards my complaint and their inability to comprehend the severity of the situation. Feeling left with no other recourse, I mentioned my intention to file an official complaint with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Yet their actions were slow and lacked any urgency, further exacerbating my frustration. To provide undeniable evidence of the poor customer service experience, I shared a recording of the phone conversation as requested by the company. I had hoped that this evidence would prompt a swift resolution, but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. The lack of transparency and accountability displayed by VM is utterly unacceptable. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect, and I demand prompt action when faced with unauthorized charges. Regrettably, they have failed to meet these basic expectations. I urge potential customers to think twice before engaging with Virgin Money. Their customer service is abysmal, and their apparent indifference to resolving issues leaves much to be desired. Save yourself the frustration and seek out a company that values its customers and takes their concerns seriously. It is my hope that this review serves as a cautionary tale for others and encourages Virgin Money to reevaluate its approach to customer service. No one should have to endure the disappointment and inconvenience that I have experienced. Please take my warning seriously and consider alternative options for your own peace of mind. Dissapointing Start

I set up a credit card account with a small balance transfer at the beginning of October 2023, I received an email confirmation within hours stating that the account and the transfer had been approved then nothing, about a week or so later the card arrived. Now near the middle of October and the balance transfer still hasn't started and I have no details on how to log into the account. The website refers me to the app to log in and the app states that I can't log in. Rubbish service with very little information about the process. Reviewed on: 13th October 2023
