I've tried so hard to see the silver lining with this company, chance after chance, but the negative reviews has been all that i've seen of the company, bar maybe 2 advisers, and even those two gave me incorrect information. I want to change this review, i really do. The company's model has so much potential but without competent, consistently trained & polite staff its doomed to continue to receive 1 star reviews. 20min + wait times on the phones Chats the log you out without warning Facebook which don't reply to you. Emails that aren't responded to for weeks. Its not good enough guys. On top of that, threatening people with insurance cancellations then not allowing them easy access to talk to you is highly unfair and the fact there's an admin charge of £35 each time you call to adjust something because nobody responds to the other modes of contact is criminal. Responding to this and saying "we take on your feedback" but then doing nothing (which based on these reviews is clearly the case) is simply gas lighting. You either care for your customers/ staff or you don't , but don't pretend to , because so far what i've seen is a company able to market themselves well but not deliver the service they promised. Wisedriving not worth the cost and trouble...stay away... !!!

- No response to emails, even after follow ups weekly! - Long call waiting times (gave up after 45mins.) - Black box a waste of money. - Renewal after a year £500+ even with 82% driving record (black box) and over 30 years of driving experience - Absolutely horrendous stories on forums about WiseDriving - Make sure u cancel auto renewal by email + phone as soon as you take out insuranace, as their website/s are designed not to help you. New insurance company £266! With only 1 years no claims (as I was abroad for 28 years) Reviewed on: 13th July 2022

Cheapest is not always best

I decided to go with wisedriving as the cheapest option, however after submitting my NCB which had a windscreen (repair not replacement) claim on it from last year, the premium jumped up by £91.90 plus a admin charge of £35. There was also an additional £150 added to my premium at the start up of my policy for the tracker installation “Ah yes the tracker”. I’m not new to black box insurance but never have I my insurance policy cancelled and within 12 days of the tracker being installed. So as it goes I drove 250 miles one night and then the same to return home the next morning. I received a email stating that I need to increase my score above 30 in the next 200 miles. However I received a email saying my policy was cancelled” the very next day after driving additional 50 miles (approximately). Furthermore they also charged me a £75 cancellation. Wisedriving promotes on the site that there are no curfews despite this, when reading how they calculate your overall score they factor in not only the time you’re driving but also the place your driving “hmm”. All I can say is my gut said to cancel after they slapped on the additional charge of a £126.90 for a windscreen repair only 3 days in to the policy. Don’t be a fool like i was. My experience with this company has been absolutely horrendous . I tried to cancel my car insurance within 14 days ,they do not pick up the phone ,after emailing my request ,14 days elapsed they took my money, my deposit amounting to over £600.00 which has not been refunded as they claim that cancelling my insurance through e mail is not accepted yet they never ever answer their phones . I was on the phone for over an hour each time .Absolute scam and shambles of a company . Please avoid if you can . Reviewed on: 27th June 2022

The worst experience I've ever had with a company

If you're thinking it's a good deal... think again! Terrible customer service and terrible systems. All I have done is change banks, and even though I am fully up to date with payments to the finance company, Wise Driving have sent me a cancellation order. Their systems are not picking up that my new direct debit is setup and I can't get hold of a single person at the company. I've been trying to sort this out for two weeks now. Their telephone numbers don't work and I have also tried to contact them through email, chat (it's just a bot) and via the finance company now. I wish I had read reviews before taking out this agreement. I can't imagine how terrible it would be if I had to make a claim. AVOID. EDIT - Since the response below... nothing has been done. This is none other than a nicety to give the appearance there is someone there who can help - there isn't. EDIT two - These jokers are astounding me... 2 weeks and no response to my complaint. I have a driving score of 87, up from 70, and no saving so they actually don't reward you for safe driving... you will never make any savings. I have made an official complaint to the company about this over 2 weeks ago and sent over 5 communications in this time and not one person will acknowledge the complaint. Terrible customer service.

What they don't make clear is they charge you £150 for the box on top of the insurance fee. The cancellation fee is £75 and you can only cancel over the phone unlike many companies which let you cancel online. It's unlikely you will ever be able to speak to anyone though. The longest i waited on hold was for an hour before giving up. I actually paid for another months insurance I didn't need as I can never find the time to call them as the wait times are so long. So I've decided to cancel the direct debit and let them call me. Reviewed on: 30th May 2022

ZERO STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD HAVE!! I have now had 4 boxes sent out all without the wire to charge it and then the boxes themselves have all been faulty once I've managed to charge them! This is not my fault but they non stop sent me threatening emails saying my policy will be cancelled. I then call them and sit on hold for an average time of 45 mins to then either be hung up on straight away or I tell them my issues and I then get put on hold and then they hang up!!?? Its like they don't want to deal with any problems!! Eventually after calling them all day everyday for 3 days I managed to sorted this problem out with a manager and I was told to ignore the cancelation emails as they are automated and I was reassured my policy WOULD NOT be cancelled and that another new box was being sent out, even though I enquired about a box that connects to the battery instead as all 4 solar panel boxes have been faulty. I'm then waiting for a call back about the battery box and or I'm waiting for the solar panel box to arrive in the post and then yesterday I received an email saying the policy was cancelled! I then try to phone wise driving and the lines were closed? So they cancelled my policy at the end of their working day so I couldn't even call them to get it reinstated! SNAKES!! We were out in the car doing shopping at that point and we had to drive home with no insurance and we were pulled over by the police! This was obviously a major ball ache but the worse thing in the whole situation is that my partners mother is seriously ill in hospital and may not make it another day so we was due to drive 80 miles so he could see her and we spent all Saturday morning trying to call wise driving on both of our phones just to be hung up on again and again and to be told no managers were available to speak! We finally were told around 12.30 pm (when the lines were due to close soon) that the underwriters "Pukka car insurance" had cancelled the policy and didn't look at the notes. Wise driving agreed that this was a mistake and that it shouldn't have happened however, they could nothing about it as the lines at Pukka were closed until Monday??!!!!!!!! In the end we got insurance with a different company and we will never use this company ever again!! Reviewed on: 14th May 2022

Appalling! My son has had an awful experience. Just passed his test and was naively informed that this was a good company. I waited in for the black box to be fitted. It never came.

Awful company. Waited in for my sons black box to be fitted and no one turned up. Company lied stating that they tried and no one was I. Which was co Petey untrue. I have been with my son for almost an hour and a half trying to get through to them today. 40 minutes before he was transferred to an operator and then cut off after 20 minutes of an inept person trying to get some answers. Following another phone call where he was kept waiting for another 25 minutes he was cut off. Poor lad had an awful letter from them recently threatening not to pay back any costs incurred if he changed following his experience. I have emailed asking for answers as has he and no response. Ombudsman next if not resolved. Very poor and customer service is excruciatingly awful. Reviewed on: 9th May 2022
