Be Careful with AA terms and conditions! Last week I realised my mot had expired by a week, I booked the mot and arranged for my car to be collected on trade plates by the garage, I went to start the car on my driveway and it was just clicking so I phoned the AA to explain but even though the car was on my drive and I have home start they refused to help! I explained I’m disabled and a blue badge holder and I’m unable to fix myself if it is just the battery. I have been with the AA for over 30 years on and off and have only used them twice and that was over 10 years ago. I have now cancelled my membership and will use the RAC as I could have broken down any where and as I can’t walk properly due to my disability i can’t take the risk with the attitude of the AA after my phone call with them. Breakdown renewal price

Why is it that every year when the renewal price is sent, it is sky high and I have to go through the performance of threatening to leave to get it reduced Only needed them three times in over 20 years but the service provided was quick and efficient. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015

suspension of cover due to buying new car.

I bought a new car recently which came with 2 years breakdown cover,but still had 8 months left to run on my AA breakdown cover.I rang the AA to see if i could suspend my cover as they were very helpful in suspending my cover with the remainder of my AA to commence when the new car's cover ran out. The call agent was very friendly and even offered a discount if i took out car insurance with them.Very impressed with the AA would never consider leaving them. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015

Reliable breakdown cover

I always like to have car breakdown cover of some description and I have been with the AA now for about 5 years. It is easy to organise the level of cover that you want and their website is set up clearly so you can easily choose which of the breakdwon services you wan to pay for, from quite a basic level to a fully comprehensive cover. I have had to call them out several times and they always keep you up to date with their progress by texting or calling your mobile which I find helpful. On a less postive side the AA do not offer a discount to regular customers but they do offer a discount to new customers. HOWEVER, when your renewal comes through call them up and ask to renew for the same price as a new customer could join for and you will undoubtedly find them very accomodating. If you don't haggle though this can be a very expensive service after a few years have gone by. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015

My car broke down and I called them to help tow my vehicle.

I was on the motorway and my car broke down, I remembered that I had some had AA's number on one of the flyers that I had. I called them right away and they came over quite quickly, they had a look under the car hood,then they towed me to a garage, and fixed within 24 hours. Very helpful service. Always helped when needed

I have been an AA member for years and now have a joint membership with my husband. I always find the renewal quote very high but when I call up they will reduce it to the new customer rates. When I have called the patrols out I have found then knowledgeable and professional. I really like the AA app for my phone that lets me track where the patrol is and the rough ETA for it. Brilliant service

I bought break down cover as a just in case with having two small children, I have never needed to use the breakdown cover for 3 years until a couple of weeks ago when my car just stopped while driving to a birthday party with my children in the car, I rang the AA and gave all details needed, and was told that someone would be with me within 30 mins, and I would get updated via text message as to the times etc, the man arrived within 20 mins and set about trying to work out the problem with my car, unfortunately I had had an electrical problem and it wasn't fixable at the roadside, however the AA made sure my car myself and my children were taken home and the car was fixed the following day at the garage Reviewed on: 9th August 2015

AA Breakdown Membership bought as a gift

Our daughter is a registered care assistant, who visits clients in their homes in our local area. We wanted to see if we could get her car breakdown cover as a gift for her birthday. We trawled through the different sites on our laptop, and up popped the AA. It was so easy to do. We purchased roadside recovery for her. You could purchase the gift online or via the 0800 number. We rang up, because we wanted to make sure that she would be covered due to her line of work. She was... Usually fairly quick to attend breakdown

I had broken down in my megane outside my house so explained to aa no real rush to get to me just needed them to tow me to a garage at their convenience, had a patrolman attend within about 40 minutes and a phone call telling me he was on his way. plugged the car into his diagnostics and found it was a faulty lambda sensor and coil pack. i had spares already owing to being a common problem. the coils were easy to access so he changed them for me there and then. well worth the £80 a year i pay them.. saved that already on labour for the fitting of the coils Reviewed on: 9th August 2015
