Abysmal service - avoid!

My broker found me this policy, and I decided to proceed. I contacted them not long after policy started, and after 2 calls, waiting for over 45mins - I opted for a callback, which after a week never appeared. I’m afraid for £175 per month, I used this as a sign that I shouldn’t proceed with the policy so cancelled the DD. 1 month later they wrote asking to me complete a new DD mandate. I wrote back advising of the terrible service, to which they just cancelled the policy. A lucky escape and won’t touch them again either a barge-pole for any other policy. Through my employer I was a group scheme member BUT

Through my employer I was a group scheme member. I was asked to submit both an invoice and a receipt for a pacemaker check. This I did on 22/12/2025. Supposed service standard - 10 working days. Today is the the 9th of February 2026 and the claim has still not been paid. Reviewed on: 9th February 2026

AVIVA Health insurance is bad for your bank balance.

Started in 2021 with a premium of £1117 year 2 went to £1739 then last year £2874 now £4362 after a £250 claim for a broken toe..don't get conned by their introductory offers/headline prices..... Reviewed on: 6th February 2026

AVIVA Health Insurance - Cold Stonewallers

My partner and I have tried to make genuine claims, but AVIVA ask so many questions and it appears they have an offshore company doing their assessments - as you get replies at 0500hrs. There customer service is awful and when my first claim was rejected - a call handler gleefully suggested that I should read the small print. One of their "overseas" reviewers suggested I may have a problem with alcohol. Reviewed on: 10th January 2026

Very bad experience with Aviva health insurance.

Very bad experience with Aviva health insurance. My son was critically ill and admitted to hospital for three days after choking, which led to a cardiac arrest. The medical team performed CPR, and he was placed on ventilator support because his lungs were in very poor condition. When he arrived at the hospital, there was no air in his lungs, and his ABG results were extremely poor. We contacted Aviva to make a claim, but they refused it, even though I have been paying nearly £50 per month. I contacted Aviva to make a claim and spoke with their customer care executive, who told me that this was not considered a serious issue. I do not understand what they would consider a serious issue, given the circumstances. This reflects very poor service, and I strongly do not recommend Aviva insurance anymore. Made a claim in July for a broken tailbone (Chronic Pain), and keep trying to contact them but took me days to get a phone number and longer to get an email. There has been no action on my claim and no contact from them. messaged them using the chat, but I have to leave my desk and by the time I come back they have closed the chat and all the information. I have emailed them for an update multiple times and 0 response. I would not recommend this service to my worst enemy. There is 0 care and seem to actually put up barriers to make any progress in any form of claim. Reviewed on: 14th August 2025
