Great option for a non-standard build

Affordable great!

The price is great and everything you need for content insurance. It has pleasant staff at the end of a phone and affordable. I shopped around but even getting a bit more for more expensive price didn’t sway me. Easy to understand process to apply and no hidden extras, but haven’t had to claim. cheapest repair & still not right 8 years later

having had a flood, no work to dry the house was started for 3 months, the repair work was cheap and shoddy (the floor was relaid 6 times!!!). At ALL times I saved them money by not moving out to a hotel, etc. Reviewed on: 1st August 2024

Flood damage and arguing with Aviva!

Following a flood from a burst pipe we have extensive damage to the lower floor of our property. Initially Aviva's response was excellent sending emergency responders within hours of us calling them. All of our flooring, skirting boards etc were ripped out and taken away on the same day and drying equipment installed.. What great service i thought but it has gone rapidly downhill since then! We are currently arguing with the loss adjuster on the settlement. We have been told that they have no contractors to do any of the repair work and we need to source our own material and labour. That's OK if Aviva will pay what it is going to cost but they will not. They say our quotes are too high and they can only pay us what they can get the work done for. How can they possibly use that argument when they have admitted they cannot complete any repairs for us. The assessor is rude and argumentative. Of course they could get the work done cheaper & that is because of their buying power, little old me cannot get those sort of discounts. I am not backing down as I am so furious with their attitude and will take it to the Ombusman if needed, DO NOT USE AVIVA FOR AYNY TYPE OF INSURANCE IF THIS IS HOW THEY TRAT THEIR CUSTOMERS!!! AVOID

Made an insurance claim following a flood. Aviva admitted liability but refuse to pay more than a tiny fraction of the cost of repair. They are dishonest bully's. Reviewed on: 4th November 2023
