Customers are not valued

In my rush to get to the bathroom to stop my bath from over flowing, I tripped on my network cable and pulled my laptop off the side. When I returned it would not power on. I planned to get it repaired myself, so I took it to Volt UK who assessed my laptop. It turned out that my on board GPU was faulty, and meant the motherboard needed replacing. They quoted me just shy of £800 for the repair. (Alot more than I expected.) So I turned to my contents insurance (Aviva) for help. They passed the claim to a company called Be Valued. They informed me they would need to collect my laptop, assess it and then destroy my laptop. This wasn't acceptable to me as I use this laptop to store data relating to my dog walking customers. It also contains after market parts and sentimental data such as family pictures. Be Valued agreed to use an itemised invoice from Volt UK, which I got for them. Then they changed their mind and told me they still wanted the laptop and still planned to destroy it. This hole ordeal has taken almost 2 months just to arrive back at square one. I definitely do not feel valued by Be Valued, or by Aviva. I will not be renewing with Aviva, and I will be moving my pension to another company. Reviewed on: 26th July 2023
