Absolutely shocking customer service. My account was closed and I was treated like a criminal in the Edinburgh branch

My experience of Barclay's is not a good one at all. After banking with them for 6years, out of the blue they closed my account last June (2022), I still have not received the final decision letter that will allow me to take my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman, when I went into the branch to try and find out what was going on I was treated like a criminal, like I had done something wrong, the only reason they gave me was that I had breached their terms & conditions, I don't know what I have done. During my numerous phone calls & branch visits I felt like their customer service was not very good at all. They wouldn't let me withdraw my benefit money for over a week, and even then they made me feel like they were doing me a favour. I would not recommend Barclay's to anyone!!!!THE STAFF NEED LESSONS ON HOW TO TREAT CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Reviewed on: 16th March 2023

Great Banking App with many extra features

Love the Barclays app as it is easy to navigate and use and has many features some other banks don't.. also love the fact that I can personalise my debit card with my own photograph or design.. Reviewed on: 16th March 2023

Inaccurate, incontactable and full of errors

It's almost impossible to open a bank account with this company. I received an error code when signing up and the phone number the app gave me put me through to Brittany Ferries who said they had received lots of these calls! How can you trust a company with your money when they can't get the important details right. The support chat in the app constantly crashes before you can type a message. Terrible bank. Just useless

Terrible experience with the platinum credit card. Avoid it at all cost to not incur in some really bad experience as happened to me. I needed to purchase something and for two days in a row the bank frozen my CC saying it was for a security reason. Payments in any way were not going through, by app, apple wallet or using it with the pin. I needed to call customer service all the times, a waste of time. Really awkward situations. On top of that, my CC keeps disappearing from the app, so you need to keep on calling them to hear the same music all the times. Ridiculous! Something to take into account for future...
