Terrible service

Customer service in absolutely intolerable. You merely cannot reach them even after 40 min waiting. Then the connection is usually lost. Online banking is constantly "upgrading their service" so that part of the functions do not work. In the US, a skyscraper can be built during that time that they "update they service". I strongly discourage everybody from joining Barclays bank. Reviewed on: 9th December 2021

Am not surprised by the numerous bad comments about this Bank. This bank does not care about there customers. I got scammed almost £3000 5 months ago and the payments went through a fraudulent company they work with called (Moonpay) yes, it might have been my fault but in what way did they protect my money? I called the police, action fraud and the financial ombudsmen Service but they kept referring me back to my bank as only they can retrieve the money bank as it's not my fault as they haven't protected me in any way so I did call the bank and I explained everything to them and nothing was done. Am still not done with this case until my money is sent back to me. Numerous times money has gone out of my account I didn't make either does anyone know my details so how? Am scared because your money isn't safe. The only thing they did was to order me a new card but was that supposed to do? Recently my card has been misbehaving. I can't withdraw, or order anything online, from stores and my school canteen. I can't even view my pin on the Barclays app or set my contactless pay by phone option and to this date, nothing has been done about it. They just sent me a new card. This year alone I have been sent almost 6 cards not that I replaced any but because of their 'I don't care attitude" of not protecting my money. Again I say AVOID. Reviewed on: 9th December 2021

How annoying is this barclays,waiting next available day to move all money and direct debits from this crp bank,if you want headaches barclays is the right bank for you, they can complicate the easiest things , and make your life really hard.3hours trying to talk with someone,gonna have to wait for bank to open and talk with some idiot there.I wish they bankrupt. Terrible app, poor customer service

The app is really slow, badly designed. Customer service just does not work, it takes 30 mins to get to them and, when they answer, they just do not focus on you. Guys, there are so many superb accounts out there...do not waste your time with Barclays. Reviewed on: 21st November 2021

Avoid Barclaus at all costs

This bank is so unsympathetic and could not possibly be less helpful. I waited over a month to receive a letter so that I could prove my address and open an account. When I finally got tired of waiting I went into their Bath branch to try and set it up in person and was told it would be over a month until I could get an appointment. I am a student and I have bills and rent to pay and I cannot do so without a bank account. I registered with the bank in September and it is now nearly the end of October and due to their poor service and dismal application system, if I were to actually open an account with Barclays (which I definitely will not be), it would not be possible to do so until the end of November. No Loyalty towards long term customers

Been with Barclays since my first adult account at 16 I'm now in my 40's and despite repeatedly asking they point blank refuse to report my good record to credit bureaus. Yet added my husband to same account ten year ago and they report his connections. Repeatedly had issues with faulty cards dodgy chips and them blocking my card for security issues when I use them in same places on daily basis. Absolutely rubbish service in process of moving over to TSB good riddance to bad rubbish 25+ years custom lost. Reviewed on: 14th October 2021

On the side of scammers

I was with Barclays for a good number of years with out any issues. Unfortunately I was targeted by fraudsters and had money stolen. Barclays basically turned around and said tough and would not refund the money. After a lot of going back and forth and getting the obismon involved. they finally decided to refund the money. Needless to say the way I was treated like I was the criminal and my mental health suffered. I was even hospitalised due to the streets of it. I have now closed the account and will have nothing to do with Barclays. Reviewed on: 19th August 2021
