Ignored my request not to auto-renew

Have had a policy with Elephant for the last year, no issues and had the account set so it specifically didn’t auto-renew. Got my renewal quote, which was double last years, so I didn’t renew. Apparently even though I specifically requested NOT to auto renew, they did anyway and took the payment yesterday. Complained and not only will they not refund this, they’ve charged me £55 cancellation charge! Will be reporting to the financial ombudsman Reviewed on: 2nd December 2022

Call wait times

Have been calling Elephant first thing, at lunch times late evening before closing time all in the hope of getting through! Called today voice said my wait time was 1 minute ....22 minutes later I am STILL on hold listening to that dire music, what DOES it take to speak to someone!! Reviewed on: 4th October 2022

Good value

DO NOT USE ELEPHANT!

Absolutely awful service!! I’ve been with Elephant over 3 years so I’m a returning customer. My premium last year was £568 and this year it has shot up to £1226!! I have a 5 year no claims bonus so I haven’t claimed in the whole time I’ve been with them. I was gobsmacked so I went on the price comparison site and over 167 quotes came in at cheaper than last years premium, all under £600! I phoned Elephamt who basically couldn’t care less! Don't go with them, you will regret it

went for windscreen replacement but elephant only use autoglass who could not replace my windscreen. The man from autoglass said that an independent could do the work but they can't. Elephant wouldn't let me use an independent company. Reviewed on: 8th July 2022

Too expensive and unhelpful customer service

Tried to turn off the auto-renewal, but still ended up rolling onto a policy that was £300 more expensive than other policies with the same coverage and excess! With a bank holiday weekend in the way only managed to speak with them a few days into the policy to discuss and hopefully reduce it... However, their next offer was still £75 above the premium of a different company (Aviva). Upon wanting to cancel, we still incurred a £25 cancellation fee. We had been with them for year... Scam!

Poor prices, renewal premium was more than £200 of quotes I had received from other companies. They do not value their customers. Poor customer service, tried to cancel renewal but the website server was down, also couldn't get through by phone, and when I did manage to get into contact, I was asked to pay extra due to not cancelling it on time.
