A slow way to change address.

4
I recently moved address and signed into my online Halifax account to change my address details. This was not possible to change online so I rang and spoke to a customer services representative. I asked to change my address over the phone and after confirming all my details, I was told that I was unable to change my address over the phone and had to either go into a branch or to complete a form they would send me in the post. This was apparently company policy. In the end I went into a branch and changed the address, however, the computers were down and I had to wait for them to come back online. The staff were very friendly, however seems like a long winded way to change an address when all the other addresses I could change over the phone or online. Reviewed on: 24th November 2015

One minor improvement...

I have been happy with my balance transfer card overall, however I would like to know at what date I will start paying interest following a 0% offer. Reviewed on: 27th August 2015

Easy application

Applying for a Halifax credit card was perhaps the simplest financial application I have done. A few simple details, and I was given an instant approval. I was kept informed about the status of my application via emails and my card, PIN number and online banking details arrived promptly. I would recommend! Reviewed on: 21st April 2015

Dated online GUI, slow service but excellent product.

In order for you to understand my experience I must first explain that I am a consultant and tend to travel a lot for work. For this reason I have a clarity credit card (Its an amazing offering and probably the best card to travel with.) However communication can be an issue when traveling. having traveled to San Francisco for 4 months I wanted to rely on the online interface that Halifax provide. This was a mistake. I was immediately having LOTS of trouble getting it up and running resetting the account access code while in San Francisco, (this is sent to you by post to your account address, so that was useless). I thought I would be all good to go, but I had forgotten my memorable data (as some people often do) so a long 45 min long distance skype call later I discovered I had to reset, not just my memorable data but also my password and then do the whole postal code thing again! so that is the end of trying to use online banking. Calling Halifax is an interesting affair, I have come to realize if you want to get hold of a human within a reasonable time you MUST phone during the week at 8-5 (working hours) otherwise you could be waiting a while. Once they do pick up its usually an EXTREMELY choppy line that you can not hear anything on and greeted by someone who asks if they can call you Mr *FIRST NAME* but ill be honest, once you make out what the agent is saying through the bad phone line they get the job done as quickly as possible and are very understanding. My last thoughts are that I can provide a side by side comparison of notifying the bank about traveling with my credit card and I do this for more than one card when going traveling. Halifax by far take the longest to get through to and complete the task. other banks (I shall not name them) will have it done within 5 mins or (usually) less of dialing their number.
