Brilliant switch service

I really like how Halifax handled the switch service ! They did this quickly and efficiently . You can easily track all your pending payments and transactions . User friendly app and easy to manage payments and transfer money to others Reviewed on: 1st February 2023

Worst service ever

Received letters their closing my account and credit card, thought its a joke, but did call them then I was told over the phone I can't get connected directly with people who decided to close my accounts and that I might be investigated for money laundering :) what a joke , I don't have much money like politicians or bankers, I am an engineer! and send now and them money to my missus and mom who live abroad. I wrote a letter to the address where the first one came, not hoping much based on what I read online, anyway worst bank ever !!! Reviewed on: 5th October 2018

Reward Account and car insurance

I have been an account holder for some time with Halifax. Very good customer service and never had any problems with my accounts. Very helpful team. I lost my wallet once and they promptly cancelled my card and had a new card within the next day. They also provided me with an easy overdraft option and savings account. I also have a car insurance with Halifax and its a very rewarding and easy to set up car insurance. Had no problems and got my insurance and all the paperwork the same day. they have stolen my money

I have a current account with the Halifax and deposited some cash so I could pay a large bill. Found out Friday 11th May that they have frozen my account and now I have no access to my money. I can't pay any bills, and I can't pay my insurance for my business so now I can't run my fleet of 9 vehicles. They will not tell me why they have frozen the account except to say its a processing error. They can't tell me when I will be able to have access to my own money. It feels like they have stolen my whole life. This is causing me terrible stress and my business that has taken 7 years to build could now be in tatters. I have a fleet or party buses, wedding cars, and two wheelchair accessible vehicles all needing insurance and I can't pay because the Halifax will not give me my money. I will open an account with another bank asap but in the meantime I would strongly advise everyone not to deal with them. Reviewed on: 15th May 2018

Useless bank..

In Crete at a family funeral,Halifax have charged me more than once for something I bought only once and now me and my girlfriend and our 2 year old son are stuck with limited cash the day before we come home and we have rung the halifax number to complain and basically they told me they can see no problems,I rang them again today 4 hours talk time all together and now the woman has told us they can see a problem,I'm so angry and annoyed ,I'm gona close my account as soon as I get home and they can go do one,lying scum bank,I really hope they crash and burn so nobody has to go through what we have Reviewed on: 9th May 2018

Middle of the road, no problem!

I have had my Halifax current account for years and have never really had a problem with it. They recently changed the way they charge for using my overdraft, which I did appreciate as they were previously charging £1 per day flat rate, but now charge a percentage depending how much of your overdraft you use. They are always helpful when I go in branch. The reason I haven't rated them more highly is the fact that they are no different to any other bank really, and don't go above and beyond. Awful judgemental staff

If you want rude customer service and branch workers that roll their eyes and calls you a liar then this Is the bank for you. Charge very large fees for a little error. AVOID at all costs, much better banks than Halifax Reviewed on: 11th April 2018
