Whilst abroad dealing with an emergency, Halifax decided to 'update' their website. This meant I wasn't able to log into my account. Having spent 20 mins on hold waiting for help I gave up. I shall be moving banks as soon as possible. Reviewed on: 17th April 2026

Good consistent bank for meeting needs

I have found Halifax to be a consistent bank in terms of meeting my needs - though I would speak well of them in regards to an incident I experienced some time back where my account was cleared out by scam. The Halifax team were quite to address and identify the issue, as well as reimbursing me what was lost. Reviewed on: 16th April 2026

Fantastic app

Fantastic app to use for all your banking needs. Just a big shame so many local branches have closed. The banking hubs are good for certain queries but not all. Reviewed on: 16th April 2026

Halifax - the good, the and the algorithm.

Halifax offer different types of current account and each comes with certain benefits and facilities or lack of these. It can be difficult getting through to someone on the phone to discuss the account. To discuss business issues is very challenging. There appears to be little capacity for staff to make independent decisions about accounts as eligibility for services appears to be determined by a central office algorithm.
