So my appalling and stressful experience with the Halifax continues. We are now at the stage where I can not undertake any transactions within my accounts, e.g transferring funds. I am being treated like a common criminal who is money laundering rather that a loyal customer of 30+ yrs. When I asked the Customer Services team what was I suppose to do this weekend as they have literally taken away every bit of service to me as the supposed customer, there response NOT OUR PROBLEM. Even though I am unable to transfer the account, trust me in sheer desperation I tried, I told them exactly what I actually thought of them, after four months of pure hell this was the final straw. I am living on my own, there is no one who I can turn to in order to have any cash flow to keep me going so what am I suppose to do. Is this the right behaviour, it shows that there is a total lack of empathy from the Halifax towards their customers and interestingly enough their behaviour towards me as a customer has deteriorated since I moved my mortgage to another provider.

Since March 2019 the Halifax Fraud team put an embargo on my card and did not inform me of this. On calling them I was told that the issue lay with Visa Debit and not the Halifax, I thought that was the end of the matter. However they placed an embargo on my current account card. So since March I have been unable to undertake any online transactions and have been continually embarrassed in stores when my card has bounced or been refused. I am trying to set up a small business and I can not make any payments to suppliers/vendors due to the way I am being treated by the Halifax and it gets worse. I have made THREE complaints to which I get a standard letter telling me how wonderful the Halifax are as a bank and that my complaint has not been upheld - NO SOLUTION. The letter is a basic template and shows no empathy towards their customers. Tonight I call their Customer Services, kept on hold and land up back with the Fraud team who then INTERROGATED me on my spending. Is this any of their business - why do I need to justify this. After over 60 minutes on the phone going around in circles, I ask how much longer and are we finished as I had an appointment to go to. I get a short and snappy response about her doing her job Well I have a life to get on with, as well as business venture and I do not have the time to be treated like dirt by my so called bank

My partner and I had a mortgage with the Halifax until one day, 12 weeks ago, our 13 year old daughter came home from school and couldn’t get into the house, the locks had been changed, and our dog had been taken. We had no idea this was happening to us.
Upon calling Halifax we were advised we had been underpaying on our monthly payments (we paid by internet banking) slightly due to a rate change (which they’d failed to advise us of).
Cutting a very long, stressful 12 week story short, we had to redeem the full outstanding mortgage of approx £190k to get our home back. We couldn’t just clear the arrears, it had to be the full loan amount. We offered £50k, which they refused. We have been fortunate enough to be able to clear the full amount and get our property back.
They are far from helpful, have caused us so much stress and upset, even down to the very last day when we cleared the mortgage in full, they expected us to wait another 72 hours before checking for receipt of the funds that had been paid by CHAPS. After a very tense phone call they finally confirmed receipt.
We have just received a invoice breakdown of “costs” that were added to our outstanding balance.
We have been charged £260 for the pleasure of a dog handler, that took our 8 month old puppy from our home, and only had him for 4 hours. He was so traumatised that he is now petrified of bald men!

I can only say avoid at all costs, the weight has been lifted off of our shoulders knowing we do not have to have any more contact with such a farce of a company.

I mention that always I had a good statement and I had half year ago another loan and I covered in full after few months. So... everybody can have diffixulties, but unfortunately they were unable yo help. Thanks anyway

I bank online and the app is so easy to use, if I do need to ring for anything the call centre sort out queries in next to no time. The members of staff in my local branch are the best, always there to help with a smile.

I was on the phone for over two and a half hours being redirected between 8 members of staff who refused to help me. then I was put through to 'customer services' in the Advantage Reward Account team who accosted me with zero sensitivity as if It's my fault that I didn't check to see if their staff had messed up. disgusting.

easy and straightforward

I have been with halifax since I was a student and they consistently give me the most straightforward and helpful experience. Their customer service with issues such as address change and overdraft limit arranged is brilliant.
