help in my time of need

i had recently changed my bank over from NatWest to Halifax. upon opening my account with Halifax and changing all my direct debits over there was some confusion between getting paid, when checking about getting paid quickly realised that there had been some miss understanding and my money had not gone into my bank. i went into Halifax in tonbridge in Kent and they where fantastic. not only did they help me to understand what had gone wrong. but they also lent me the money and when the money owed came into my bank they would take it back out. having a young child too and needing shopping they where amazing. thank you halifax Reviewed on: 16th February 2016

Almost no local branches remain and the staff are clueless but the reward's kind of OK

Thanks, the Halifax, for shutting down all my easily-accessible local branches. I've had to open a new bank account with a different company, specifically so I can cash the odd cheque and then I have to do an online transfer of whatever amount the cheque was for into my Halifax current account, but that's horses for courses. In my experience your in-branch bank staff are total numties, however. Left hand / right hand - neither knowing what the other one's doing. Banking rules - rates for kid accounts - they know next to nothing about anything. You'd think they'd pick up some of the relevant info about your bank accounts just by the chance of them coming in to work at the Halifax every day - but as far as I can tell that's never happened so far. Really! Not ever. Time and again they've given me information that's inaccurate, if not actively outright contradicted by the next person I go in to speak with to sort out the mess the first person who 'advised' me created. Room for improvement? Yes, I'll say! The Halifax however, doesn't actively charge me for having a bank account which some of the others do and as I can't be bothered changing, and sometimes they even 'reward' me with a fiver for having a bank account with them, overall, I can't really complain. I went in to open account staff where so helpful and was all done so fast very happy

6 months I go I needed a good saving account and was set up a currant account the staff was so helpful in my dartford brunch and with few questions was all set up they was very helpful in making sure i had right account for me in that time and then showed me all they had to offer found it so helpful and will be dealing with them again soon .x Reviewed on: 12th February 2016

It does what we need with no bother and pays us a fiver a month.
