Review of the Halifax, Fixed Rate Mortgage:

Extremely untrustworthy

Do not even apply for a mortgage with these extremely unprofessional individuals. Initially I was told that they would lend me £125,000 for the mortgage and gave an AIP. Next they said they'd only loan me £99,000 because I spent £3000 to book a holiday on my credit card (which is what sound minded people do for insurance). Next day they told me that they could loan me somewhere between £119,000 and £135,000 with the full and same details i gave them again. Two days later, after sending my application to an underwriter, they saidnthey could only lend me £113,000 and specifically stated that this as because I had booked my holiday in my credit card DESPITE me paying it off days later. Utterly vile individuals. How is that junk bank still in operation. Managed by idiots. Reviewed on: 14th September 2023

Mortgage

I was given great advice and information for my first time buyer mortgage. After careful consideration of the two products, I took out the 5 fix mortgage payment. Reliable

Service has always been satisfactory

Fantastic

I was told I would have trouble getting a mortgage due to being self- employed and back living in the UK for only a few months following a stint of living abroad. They were able to not only offer me a mortgage but with an exceptionally competive fixed rate. Excellent customer service and my online mortgage account is easy and efficient to use. By far the best rate we could find

We switched to Halifax fixed rate mortgage 2 years ago when remortgaging. They were by far the best rate we could find and we have not had any trouble with them. Would definitely recommend. Reviewed on: 8th February 2018
