Good experience with a Halifax mortgage

Took out a mortgage with Halifax three years ago and found the team at the branch very helpful and experienced. They were quick to help and did not rush during the appointment and my custom felt valued. Good rates too. Reviewed on: 28th August 2015

Good Competitive Rates

Have been with Halifax mortgages for 3 years now after originally taking out a 2 year fixed rate, when the time had come that my fixed rate was over a quick call to customer services later and I had been offered the lowest rate around for another 2 year contract and they even rushed the paper work so it would be processed before that months payment so it would be reduced. They messed up changing the amount of an overpayment.

I'd rang up to increase my overpayments to an extra £116, but they only increased it by £16. Either the advisor misheard, or it was a typing mistake. I didn't find out until the direct debit went through, necessitating another call to Halifax to sort it out. Reviewed on: 15th August 2015

Remortgaged to a new fixed rate in 5 minutes and saved £70 a month!

I have now had a Halifax mortgage for 18 months and my fixed rate deal was ending. I looked at the offers on the website and when I entered my mortgage number, was given 2 deals to choose from - a 2 year fixed rate or a 4 year fixed rate. I selected the one that I wanted and was given a reference number to log in to check the progress of my switch. The next day, I received an email from Halifax to say it had all been confirmed and I would receive confirmation documents in the post as well as online. I've saved £70 a month on my mortgage for 5 minutes of my time! Reviewed on: 10th August 2015

Easy enough

I kickstarted my application in branch, and from then felt very well guided through the process. I'm now happily in my new home...and happy I applied for my mortgage with the Halifax! Reviewed on: 25th May 2015

Timing wasn't great

I arranged my mortgage with Halifax at the top end of the market. Not their fault, but it's not been good to see the cost of mortgages drop like flies while mine stays the same Reviewed on: 14th October 2014
