Lana Beech at The Hanley Economic has been absolutely fantastic with supporting Myself and my Partner when applying for a Mortgage with The Hanley & Porting our current Mortgage with them.

She has made the process seem easy and nothing has never been too much trouble even though there has been a few issues along the way due to the Solicitor Reports we received from the previous property we were going to purchase.

The House Buying process can be quite stressful as a Young Couple due to not knowing the process fully and Lana has always been on hand to support and being professional with whatever questions we have had.

Thank you to Lana & The Hanley for assisting us with all enquiries, we would 100% recommend.

Staff at the Hanley have been amazing - they went out of their way to ensure I had a mortgage in principle in time for our house viewing. Once we had made our offer we were on a very short timescale which we couldn't have met without staff changing their appointments to meet with us and being able to submit documentation remotely. There has been supportive communication through e-mail - not at all intrusive and a definite feeling that they were on our side working to get us into out new house. The whole process was completed within the 6 weeks specified by the vendor. I cannot recommend the Hanley enough. Thank you

We contacted The Hanley directly as we were buying a new build property and wanted to take out a 95% mortgage. Unfortunately most high street lenders do not offer a 95% LTV on a new build property, but as soon as we contacted them to make an enquiry, they arranged a call back with a mortgage adviser. Danielle Cope was the mortgage adviser who dealt with us and she was so helpful and friendly throughout. She gave us some great advice and plenty of options on the type of mortgage term and rate. After the application was submitted, the underwriting team were fantastic and very efficient. Every time we called we were able to speak with the underwriters directly, and we were made to feel like our application was important, and not just another number. Would highly recommend.

We have recently moved into our first property thanks to Jane at the Hanley. Initially we thought, being first time buyers with only a 5% deposit and debts on credit cards we would never be able to get a mortgage. After being referred to Jane by a family member, we thought we'd give her a call. I am so glad we did, Jane made things so simple and straight forward for us, she made us feel so comfortable and ultimately we have moved into our dream home! We will definitely be recommending The Hanley (and Jane!) to others! Thank you!

The Hanley and everything they have done for me and my partners first house has been incredible. I felt like I had a close connection with everyone involved all the way to underwriting.. however, this was down to the work of Lana Beech.

There’s no over-exaggeration here when I say Lana literally has made our house purchase work. From her years of experience, her advice allowed us to communicate with solicitors to change their demands to make our mortgage work.

Despite all this, she’s genuinely one of the most professional but lovely people I have ever spoken to. We spoke nearly every day for 2/3 weeks - and you won’t ever have to chase ANYTHING if you go with the Hanley/Lana. They are on the ball from 9am onwards. I had Lana calling me later on the day some days as she knew I had a late night the night before! Little considerations make the whole experience 100x better.

Buying your first house is daunting. No matter what research you do, you can never know everything you need to know. In this day and age, there are too many formalities, and too much jargon.

Sometimes, you need someone to talk to you as an adult and just explain everything you need to know. This is one of the best things Lana did for us.

Incredible work. Have no doubts about the Hanley. They will be one of the most pleasant companies you have spoken to.

Please show this review to Lana but also the hierarchy above Lana. It’s important to me that powers-that-be are aware of the work she has done, and the influence she made. I just wish she was a solicitor too!!!

Oh, worth mentioning that the Hanleys products are brilliant too! It’s easy to forget this as you are sold straight away with the products that come back on offer!

I think that sometimes people forget - in this age of faceless online application processes - that it’s often the people that make these experiences better, supported by good IT; not the other way around.

Note to the website administrator. My review below was left on 23rd May 2019 at around 7pm and is a true and accurate account of a recent experience. Today I have found that you have removed my review without any given reason? For those who are interested, here is my original review:

I had spoken to Kathrine on 21st May 2019, she had arranged a telephone appointment between Mark Watson who is said to be a mortgage advisor and myself for 23rd May 2019 at 9:30am. At 9:40am on 23rd May 2019 I phoned the Hanley and spoke to Sherrie, she advised that she had spoken to Mark and that I should put the ‘phone down’ as he was there ready and willing to call me ‘straight away’. It is now, at the time of writing this, over 9 hours from the mutually agreed telephone appointment and the promise of a call ‘straight away’ as advised by Sherrie, both of which, have not occurred! I would advise anyone considering using the Hanley for a mortgage to think again. It is of my opinion, that if they cannot honour a telephone appointment then what are the chances of them dealing with all other elements of the mortgage application and completion process in a timely and efficient manner? I personally cannot think of anything worse than having an offer to purchase, accepted on a property, only for it to fall through, due to the incompetence of the staff who represent the Hanley Economic Building Society. BE WARNED!

In your comments you have made further assurances that are factually incorrect!

Allow me to ‘assure you’ as a matter of ‘fact’ that I did post my review above on 23rd May 2019 and it WAS removed as described in my opening paragraph!

I can prove this fact with screen shots that were taken at the time of posting the review. The review was online and live before subsequently being removed.

So by trying to imply that I could be mistaken, that I have got myself ‘confused’ all because I left a Google review ‘as well’ bears no relevance to the removal of my original review.

My son applied for a mortgage with the Hanley as a first time buyer. Jane Longmore was his Mortgage Advisor. From my observations Jane explained the requirements and responsibilities of buying a home and guided my son through the various stages from application to approval. Buying a house is not straight forward but with the help of Jane and the obvious teamwork at the Hanley the various obstacles were overcome. My son has recently completed the purchase of his house and is delighted with the help that he received from the Hanley. Thank you very much.

Where to start? Began mortgage application 6 weeks ago with requests for various bits of paperwork. Every time we expected a valuation date before a formal mortgage offer was given more paperwork was chased even though much of it contained the same information they had already been provided with. After 5 weeks, I rang through to speak to the underwriter dealing with our application as was told she had gone off on sick and not sent through the paperwork to my place of employment after stating she would do it imminently. The case was passed on to a new underwriter who hadn’t updated herself with the case notes so didn’t have a clue what they were waiting for (ironic considering we didn’t either!) the following week it was assigned to yet another case worker who evidently only worked part time and wanted yet again, more paperwork. This was sent through and she stated she would review this within 24 hours. Not sure which clock she was going by but 5 days later she left us on hold for almost an hour and the office kept telling us she was on lunch (for almost 2 hours) and still wouldn’t return our call. In the end she declared she couldn’t help us even though our solicitors were waiting to complete pending formal mortgage offer! In the midst of this we were awaiting a date with 2 small children needing to move out of rented accommodation within the next 2 weeks. The amount of stress and anxiety caused by this absolute joke of a company is endless! Would never recommend, (text edited by Smart Money People).
