Rather old fashioned.

Rather old fashioned. Banking app which has few features. Staff in branch who tell you to RING or go online to find out the interest rates on savings accounts. (Even when you’re standing there IN BRANCH) Needing to have 2 forms of ID even with a passbook to do quite a lot of things. Needing to use a pass book all the time. £10 fee for lost passbooks. security is important but this is silly

So, security is important and protecting clients’ money is vital. But sometimes this building society is ridiculous. I went in to close my late father’s account - which had the grand sum of £100 in it. Despite having my passport, Grant of Probate, Death Certificate AND my own passbook from the same building society, I was not able to access the HUGE amount of money unless I had 2 forms of ID. I had no such trouble accessing thousands more from other banks with less ID. Ridiculous. Reviewed on: 7th February 2025
