CheekyCharges Campaigner

Well i had already been with them a year, and they sent my quote for the next year and it was over 50% more than the previous year even though i was in double figures for no-claims and there were no changes from last year. So I decided to used a comparison website and inputting the same details as on the quote, the same company came up as the cheapest insurers on the comparison website, at over 50% less than their quote. So i called them and asked why i had 2 quotes with such different prices and they couldn't answer me, they also tried to quote me a price that was between my two other quotes and when i said it would be cheaper for me to leave them now, and then re-join them with my online quote their answer was 'So why did you bother calling then?' I was simply amazed at that! So the Golden rule should always be- NEVER accept the quote from your current insurers without looking around first, it will save you a fortune! Great company, easy to insure with

I have insured with Hastings for a couple of years now. I first went for them as they were the cheapest, however I have stuck with them as they are very easy to deal with and amend/change policy details, they also gave me a great renewal price, they weren’t the cheapest renewal but worth the extra for being easy to deal with. Not recommend Hasting direct for a car insurance at all please avoid it otherwise you will suffer

Hello I am writing this review just to help others I would not recommend hasting direct for car insurance it is just a waste of money and all you get is suffer the pain at the end so please anyone thinking of doing car insurance with hasting direct just avoid it and look for other company other wise you will regret I had a road accident which wasn’t even my fault and my insurance know that I had accident on the 5th of dec and hasting provide me the hire car on the 24th dec 2023 after 18 days and I used to phoned them like 3 times a day than they provide me the enterprise car after 18days and they promised me they will fix the car it’s almost 2 months since 5th dec 23 and today is 12th feb 23 and they still not fix my car before a week they called me and said your car is fix once I went their with my 5 kids to collect the car it wasn’t even started I have to phoned back so many times to report that it’s not starting I came back home and the following week they phoned again and said it’s fix I went again to collect and it was the same problem car wasn’t even starting I reported it again it was me who was keep calling and getting updates for my car and they wasn’t even bothered to contact me and give me updates when they know it, It was their fault and they are not respond or responsible and feeling guilt they came up with easy solution and told me the fault ur car having is not after accident it was before the accident all they did is a big lie so they can avoid me and my car this was an easy solution for them to say it and they said it even though my car was absolutely fine and I was driving it nothing was wrong with the car after they keeping my car for the fix excuses for almost 2 months at the end they said ur car might have a problem before the accident but I am saying how??? My car was absolutely fine before the accident i didn’t notice anything neither my car gives me any signal of anything wrong on it so how can that be possible please please any one who is thinking to do the insurance with this company I would highly recommend to look for another company this is not worthy you won’t get anything neither your car will be fixed all you will get is the engineer will phone you and will tell you your car had this issue before the accident my review is very honest just to help others this company is not worthy for customers all I think is the positive review you see on the page will be probably their own employee reviews not customers it’s all a lie I suffered a lot as a mum of 5 without a car already suffering and I don’t don’t won’t any other mothers to suffer Reviewed on: 12th February 2023

Totally rubbish

Renewed policy two weeks before old one ran out same conditions as my as my old policy paid for in full I told them I was retired as I was the year before as I receive pip they rang me to say i was unemployed and it would cost an extra 152 pounds I explained you can be employed and still receiving pip and I was retired so my 246pound policy was going to be 397 so i refused that and was told I would have to pay admin fee to cancel policy what wasn't due to start for another 2weeks totall scam Reviewed on: 24th January 2023

Awful!

Lost my car after they recovered it from the roadside. No courtesy car. No payout. I’m an nhs midwife that relies on her car for work and it has now been missing for eight days. Google it. This is not uncommon for them. Avoid. Reviewed on: 18th January 2023

Crap pure crap avoid avoid avoid

Junk insurance company

I bought Hastings Direct's insurance and had to install a gadget in the car. I was away on holiday when it arrived. I fixed it on the next day but too late - they cancelled my insurance. I was unaware of this so I drove round for several days before a letter arrived telling me the insurance had been cancelled some days before. Reviewed on: 31st December 2022

Miserable experience at the hands of unprofessional staff

Accident, other driver to blame. 45 minute phone call to an Inspector Clouseau tribute act, who still didn't get a grip on what happened. Courtesy car? Might as well ask for a unicorn horn and eternal life. A succession of unhelpful, unqualified, and charmless individuals have then spectacularly failed to make any progress. With anything. The time taken over trifling amounts might suggest a company in financial bother, or operators paid by the savings they extract from Hastings Direct's clients. I think we had car and home insurances with them, but we may as well have spent the money on holidays, for all the "cover" we've actually had when it's been needed. Horrid experience and duped from the start

Just had a phone call 11 months after an alleged incident to tell me that it could take another 6 years to sort out. I questioned the incident and was told that I was in an accident with someone but wasn't but was but wasn't but was but wasn't but was but wasn't. Told never to call them again and if they had anything to tell me in the next 6 years from now that they will let me know. But.....in the meantime, continue paying a premium for insurance I have not had for 10 months now for a vehicle that I do not own for an accident that I wasn't involved in but was but wasn't but was. Got to be the absolute worst company ever. She continuously talked over me and tried to accuse me of shouting so she could end the call on the absolute nonsense she spouted without explaining how what she was saying was even possible. I have instructed them about 50 times now that the claim someone is making was not me and that this person needs to take me to court to prove I was in an incident with him. She said no. He doesn't need to prove anything he just needs to seek liability. How is this even legal? This is fraud and deception! Horrid company.
