Avoid at every single cost

Endless fraudulent attacks on my account since opening. The last one the cashier said they couldn’t complete payment over the counter as the money hadn’t been moved from my savings. We were taking money out and had in fact transferred this. She again claimed it wasn’t. Checked my account and the money I had asked for had come up as withdrawn on my online banking. I went straight back to the bank this member of staff was on her break?? Almost two hours of waiting on the bank manager to get to the bottom of what went on and apparently the lady behind the counter had gone ahead with my request removing the money from My debit account by accident? But hadn’t given me the money. So imagine if I wasn’t on the ball or a vulnerable person and this money would have disappeared. Absolutely disgusting service. I’ve had over 6 fraudulent attacks on my account in only a year, within an hour of opening this so called safer account I had 10,000 pounds taken and sent to Dubai. Apparently and the excuse this time was the advisor left my details on screen and made the wrong transaction on the next call. What planet do these people think we are on to believe such blatant lies. Now today in trying to make a payment to my solicitor for a property, over two hours on the phone with calls cutting out from their end then to be told their voice recognition didn’t pick up my voice so they can’t make the payment. This voice system is completely floored it never picks up my voice but yet in the past they just ask additional security questions but refused today. When I first opened this account they were so far up my backside it was embarrassing, but now I’ve purchased 3 houses they seem less interested. They need to remember when I decide to sell these properties I need a bank I can trust and let me tell you now this bank is far from it. I now have to go into the branch tomorrow and take time away from what I should be doing to get this payment sent. Do yourselves a huge favour and avoid this bank and go somewhere else I will be closing my account down they’ve had far too many chances. Reviewed on: 12th January 2023

HSBC has destroyed once-great Premier service

I've banked with HSBC Premier for over a decade. The call centre used to be very efficient and helpful and the Premier Centres in branches very useful. No longer! Without telling customers, HSBC has done away with all the Premier Centres and merged the call centre. Service is now appalling with 20-minute wait times and staff who cannot resolve anything. The diminishing number of branches left open have staff who seem unable to resolve anything beyond minor queries, referring customers instead to the dreadful call centre. What a disaster. Appalling service.

Phoned to request replacement debit card for my extremely deaf husband. Call handler insisted on speaking to him, so had to repeat questions as she went through security checks, at the end of which she said he had failed checks as I had repeated her questions, even though he had actually answered. Tine was when HSBC Premier was exactly that, a premier service. Now simply dreadful, time to change. Reviewed on: 1st November 2022

HSBC Relationship Manager is the blocker for HSBC Premier Customer

HSBC relationship Manager contacted me out of the blue at about 7pm and introduced themselves and claiming that they could help me to apply premier credit card and provide me many other services. The standard time frame for all these application takes 10 working days approximately; but it's been close to the 3rd month, the application form haven't even been sent to me despite with multiple follow ups, the relationship Manager is simply ignoring the request. In the end, I have contacted the HSBC general hot line, and was advised to contact my relationship manager. is this a joke? Really can't recommend at all the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with - all to 'protect' the bank really uninterested in helping - called re a cancelled order to see if it had been credited to card - hour long kafkaseque nightmare - unbelievably poor training scripts and policies - go eleswhere Reviewed on: 16th September 2022

Not really an account for the modern mobile worker

HSBC always advertises how they support you when working and travelling internationally. This isn't really the case with HSBC in the UK. My residency is no longer in the UK and I have HSBC premier accounts in 2 additional countries. The other countries support me well. However HSBC UK :- Has frozen my UK stocks investment account with them Refuse to talk to me about basic queries since I am not UK resident Allow me still to use my UK credit card but will never increase its limit. For what its worth I still have a UK family home and Experian will show me with a 999 credit score. It is just HSBC UK policy to dump you as soon as you move.... Reviewed on: 24th July 2022

Take your money elsewhere

Their premier service is really below par compared to that of other premier accounts in Singapore. The call service is as the previous review reported "infuriating". After holding on for ages and answering automated recorded messages, you get through to a "premier associate" who is always "unable to help". Unlike premier relationship managers at other banks, the ones at HSBC are also always disinterested and most of the time ask you to request services online yourself. Then after doing so, nobody updates you on the status of your application and you just have to assume. Reviewed on: 19th July 2022
