Left laptop on train. Was replaced (since named item) and due to the one we bought no longer being available we ended up with a better one than we started with!

Was hassle free and call center staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Now have all my insurance through them.

L&G have a lovely little app which help you work out how much your possessions are worth. But it does not warn you that there is a maximum amount on their normal insurance. Nor does it allow you to save your figures even though there is a save button. So you can spend some time on their site and end up not using them.

I bought a new bike and insured it along with an existing bike. The cover was very cheap at only £13 extra per year. Unfortunately my new bike was stolen 1 day after I insured it. I didn't think they'd pay out but after only a few very reasonable questions they paid out in full and also paid for new lights and locks with no quibbles at all. I had the money 1 week after my bike was stolen. Amazing service.

I was burgled, all my electronics were taken. Although generally the service was good I was sent a camera bag that didn't fit the camera they provided me with and 4 months later I still hadn't received a replacement DS. After 4 phone calls they admitted it was because they hadn't got one in the same colour! At no point during the previous 3 phone calls did the staff think to offer me an alternative colour (of which they had loads)

My phone was stolen within 6 weeks of purchase. I was panicking about the replacement cost but was worried that a claim would seriously effect my policy so rang and made an enquiry. Jo from Legal and General was very pleasant and polite from start to finish, offered to call me back when she knew it would take a few minutes to obtain some information and found the highest price she could for my phone. She also weighed up the pros and cons of making a claim for the phone and wasn't pushy when I was deciding. I didn't have to pay the excess upfront as it came out of the cheque which was great as I had just moved and was short for money. I received the cheque within 2 weeks of my claim and the whole process was so much easier than I thought it would be.
